Spoiler Downtown is one of my all time favorite songs and gives validity toĀ the claims that my playlists are too sadĀ Anyway, I went back to listened to GWNF a few times today and wow, now I feel dumb for not listening to this sooner. I probably tried to listen to it in a certain mood, didnāt get too far and wrote it off. My first impression sometimes fails me.Ā I think Cape God rubbed me the wrong way. It definitely has some solid tracks, but had some others I didnātĀ care for thatĀ much.Ā Ā Ā This new record feels really well rounded, a very consistent vibe and a jam that I can really work with.Ā Ā Weird World, Girl With No Face, Off With Her Tits, John and Jonathan, Galina and Saddest SmileĀ are my favs, with the lastĀ being my absolute fav, probably. I love the title track too. Ugh itās hard to just pick one.Ā Ā Another random note, I always loved the album art of hers where sheās carrying a book and papers are floating. ItĀ inspired me to go out and shoot something similar. Iām still working on taking pictures of myself and it took a ton of takes to get a shot that I was sorta satisfied with. I lowkey wanna try a shoot like that again, lol.
