The main character (can't remember his name right now) is just really, really annoying.

 

Me neither, there are waaaay better books out there people should read in school, or whereever people read them.

 

Holden Caulfield I thought he was pretty good, I guess I could sort of relate to some of the stuff he felt/said but it didn't inspire me or whatever. To be honest I only read it because I thought it make me seem "educated" or whatever haha

I got Lolita and The Great Gatsby recently. I was, ah, inspired Actually read The Great Gatsby before but I wanted to brush up on it. Haven't started either because I have a ton of shitty Shakespeare to read for school. I just really dislike Shakespeare but this goddamn English major, man.

I just read the Audrey Hepburn biography (An Elegant Spirit) by her son, Sean Ferrer. An interesting read, along with many lovely pictures.

The Great Gatsby was actually really good, I'd always been too lazy to read it, but with the film coming out I got onto it.

I'd recommend Lolita to anyone, I can see why LDR is a big fan.

That was such a good book! When I was ~growing up~ Audrey was my big icon. My favorite thing about her was how demure and ladylike she seemed to outsiders, but I remember reading that Gregory Peck (I think that's who it was) said she was kind of perverse &  would always tell really dirty jokes among friends, dirty enough to make a sailor blush..  I thought that is just the kind of girl I want to be. haha

 

I'm currently reading the bell jar for the upteenth time, a jim morrison bio by stephen davis (best one i've read yet, although the author does sort of write with an opinionated, definitive sort of way ..ex. saying jim and robby were the only 'true' musicians of the doors..way harsh, tai btw) I wanna start reading 'a coney island of the mind' by ferlinghetti soon. jim loved him and the name just reminds me of lana

I finished Eccentrics by David Weeks yesterday night! I probably will start reading some classic Brazilian book today, before I start reading Shakespeare in archaic English and Lolita.

Mi Tipo [My Type] - It's about typography, it talks about the most famous fonts around the world, it tells you that Comic Sans has a porpuse and if you love it or if you hate it, you don't know about typography, and more fonts. This is a pleasure meets homework book.

 

50 Shades Darker - It's actually pretty decent, but I'm kind boring with all the sex, it's like a porn movie, "-Oh hi, how are you? - Let's have sex".

I'm at the beginning of Lolita, the beginning was crazy boring but it's gotten better. I'm at the part when she had an apple & he took it away from her :3 

I haven't really had the time to read it, but I plan on finishing it by Sunday.

After that I'm going to re-read Star & Star Struck by Pamela Anderson. They're flawless

Maybe nobody will know about this book but, I finished "Como agua para Chocolate" [Like water for chocolate], and I have to say, that it's one of my favorite books ever. If you have the chance to get it in your language or you know spanish, you should read it. It talks about mexican history but with this magical twist. 

 

I love this book and also the movie. I had to read it for my spanish class and I fell in love with it. Pedro Muzquiz...so amazing.

I just finished another amazing Nietzsche book: The Anti-Christ. Twilight of the Idols is also a great book. What I wouldn't give to live 48hrs inside Nietzsche's head.

I'm more than halfway through Gatsby and I feel like I have no clue on what's going on. I know there's been a party or two, but is that really it? I was really looking forward to read this book, but it just fell flat 

 

I give up. Tomorrow I'll be experiencing this visually and sonically
