This is so great, I can't. She must've fought her ass off to have this album exactly the way she wants it to be. Can you think of anyone with an album cover like that? I can't. I honestly can't think of a better way to give this album a face. It's kind of bad-ass and fragile at the same time, which, I believe, is the essence of who she really is.

Barrie and Lana don't even have the slightest idea of what they just caused in this fan base.

I could swear to God that I heard this song during the soundcheck in Brussels. It was very brief, but I totally recognise the vocal harmonies in the beginning and the drums kicking in. I pretty much consider this one of her finest tracks, to be honest.

She didn't. This rumor started spreading long before the Jonathan Ross interview. This was her response to it, and Glastonbury a few months later was just an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction which added fuel to the fire.

That Lady Gaga is a man.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for this.

Imagine the hilariousness of updating her Wikipedia page with all that concrete information, including dates few people care about only. I suppose a very certain party involved wouldn't be too happy about it, though.

Keep in mind that especially in terms of feminism, many things have been unsaid in the early 1990s. Feisty women in popular music have been rather rare at this point.

  13. missdecadence liked a post in a topic by DUKE in Bob Leone talks about Lana, Gaga & "So Legit"
That is not true. It is very untrue indeed.

Bob Leone voluntarily managed Gaga on a part-time basis for a good six months in 2006 during which he would book small shows for her, but mainly served as her mentor and consultant on her way into the industry. He had introduced her to a variety of people, Wendy Starland among them, who eventually introduced him to Rob Fusari, a relatively famous producer. Bob Leone helped Gaga and her father negotiating the recording deal with Fusari, successfully. Rob Fusari demanded song writing credits and royalties he did not deserve. This demand got dropped thanks to Leone. One of the songs from that collaboration was "Paparazzi," for instance.

Short while after Gaga signed with Def Jam, and this is where Leone's and Gaga's paths split. There has never been a business arrangement between them, as Leone had different professional commitments at the time and also felt overwhelmed managing her. She therefore doesn't owe him anything legally. Def Jam Records dropped Gaga after just three months, and Leone has had no influence at all with Gaga being signed by Interscope Records, and the following debut album The Fame. In fact, he has been in money trouble for quite some time which is why he desperately sold numerous early Gaga recordings in 2010, which Gaga ended up buying herself.

Now what I wonder, if virtuous Lizzy was so upset back then about Gaga's allegedly ruthless behaviour, why isn't she helping Leone now paying his rent? Now that she's a platinum-selling superstar herself...

Edit: I just read the full article and it basically says the same things I included in my post, but there are two things in particular I find very very ridiculous. First, his comment on Gaga's father being offended by not being her manager is so stupid. And second, does Bob Leone actually think he should be rewarded for landing her a major label deal that was withdrawn three months after and saw no actual results? He probably does now that he's in need of money. Him quoting Gaga at 17 years old saying she wanted to rule to world and whatnot... that sounds very inspired by a Madonna quote. And I doubt she ever said that.

David's first album in ten years, The Next Day, is set to be released internationally on March 12 (a few days earlier in some territories). The album features his recently released single
which takes a look back to the past, at David's time in Berlin and how things have or have not changed. His longtime collaborator Tony Visconti (producer of the infamous Berlin trilogy including the albums Low, "Heroes" and Lodger) describes the sound of the record to be very rock-inspired, hinting at similarities to "Heroes." The sound may not be the only similar aspect to David's legendary, ground-breaking album from 1977. The album artwork to The Next Day, conceived by Jonathan Barnbrook and David himself, is an altered image of the "Heroes" album cover. Open the spoiler for further information...

We can never say 'what if' but I am convinced that all those accusations of her being fake and manufactured did her a lot of favors career-wise.

Beemo, I hope you forgive me for viciously screen caping your wonderful theme and butchering it.
I figured a separate thread to discuss setlist changes, costume changes, tour news, anticipations, rumors, fan meetings and whatnot might be a good idea.

I might start with Lana's recent tweet from the tour rehearsals... with a photo that's old as hell.  Thanks, Ata.

Looks a lot like one of the outfits worn for the Born to Die gigs in New York and LA last year...
