Will Lana leave music forever?

Recommended Posts

I just hate the idea that Lana won't be working on a next album and that the Paradise Edition is gonna be her last album. I don't want her to give up music forever. I respect her wish to work in the movie industry but I don't see anything wrong with keeping her career as a singer. What do you think?

My obviously ~very important, accurate thoughts~ on this:

I think her dislike of performing is strong enough to be a large factor as to why she said that (but not the only factor, and not necessarily the largest, either). Like someone else said (I forget who, but props to you), I wouldn't mind if Lana pulled a Kate Bush and pulled from performing altogether, but still released shit. If constant performing for large crowds causes her enough anxiety for her to want to stop releasing albums altogether, I would sacrifice the possibility of one day seeing her perform for her continuing career in the industry.

I do think it was an incredibly stupid thing to say, "I've said all I've needed to say." You're young, Lana! 27 is YOUNG. You're not going to stop having songwriting-worthy experiences at a certain age. Your life does not end at 27. (Please, no tacky 27 club jokes). You're still going to fall in love and have relationships and have crappy, depressing periods in your life and maybe have children or discover new passions and see new places and do new things and grow and learn things about yourself that you didn't know -- and aren't at least some of those worthy of being documented? Is this not what you've written about before?

I don't know. Maybe she only wanted to write about the "crazy, tumultuous years" of her youth... but I think it'd be a real pity to only write about the struggles in her YOUTH. This is how she'd leave her music career, with songs about a reckless past (from being a teenager to early adulthood) that doesn't even define who she is (and a horribly over-produced album)? I think that's some really stagnant shit.

...I think she says stuff before she thinks or maybe is a bit dramatic.

She probably does have some dramatic tendencies to her, but I never read the quote thinking that, or thinking that she spoke without some real thought to it, or that it was attention-seeking. I think this is something that she genuinely thought at that moment, in that time of her life. It doesn't mean she didn't put thought into it.

I doubt she will quit music when things are just taking off for her. She might have doubts about staying, but idk that was a long time ago. I know she said something about going into the film industry instead but she seems really happy/at peace with music lately. And her live performances are getting better and better.

I know Lana said in 2012 and 2013 that she would retire from music, but I just can’t help but get a bit of secondhand embarrassment every time I see people ask on social media “dO yOu tHiNk tHiS wILL bE lAnA’s LaSt aLbUm?” and then give reasons as to why she is retiring. Like why would you ask that and put that energy out there? Do you even know the woman you’re stanning? She worked incredibly hard to get where she is and loves the craft of her career - she is a true artist who is not going anywhere anytime soon! Don’t prematurely halt her creative output lol!:hide:

Speaking of which,  I wonder how many LDR albums we’ll end up getting (if I’m alive to see her last lol). Madonna’s pretty much at the tail-end (imo) and she’s put out 14 studio albums. LDR is already halfway there and she’s still only in her 30s. I wonder if we’ll all have a “LDR21 Pre-Pre-Release thread” on the LanaBoards-Brain-Microchip in 2047 :blush3:

Not really related to her quitting music but I really want her to get a part in a movie

I know she really wanted the part of Priscilla in the Elvis biopic and Baz tried to let her doen gently. She did two auditions or something. Ideally I'd like to see her in some sort of thriller. The other day I watched an old movie of Cate Blanchett's called The Gift and the whole time I could just visualise Lana playing Katie Holmes' character perfectly

ur legit gonna look the same stop buying oil of Olay face cream
