girl. it's just her persona for this era. Whats so hard to comprehend? It's not supposed to be "succesful" on the charts like taylor swift. It's supposed to make you feel like you're listening to a mainstream generic popstar. 

She made < 3 minutes songs on purpose, if that's not clear enough. It's kinda like Gaga's Artpop where she said "DO NOT buy Gaga's new album" and all that stuff, this era is her being a hollywood typical popstar, satirically
