im so curious what the music critics think about the album like I know Anthony Fantano was at Charli’s primavera show and said it was incredible on twitter (+ raved about her artistry in the next tweet) so I’d assume his review will be favorable and the locals eat his videos up

i feel the exact same way. im bummed out, the boiler room set had me expecting a different sound for this album. im underwhelmed by many of the tracks that feel very half baked. HOWEVER. IMSSS and ITAIATT I have the same critique as Taylor Swift songs where its like, not even a good song its just something she wanted to say to her audience over a beat to give her audience lore and a closer look into her life / mind and its like.... babe that could have just been a tweet or an interview statement or idk write a book because what was that song. But I guess they are short and these are just more like interludes inbetween how crazy the other tracks on this album are.

 

Complaining aside this is one of my favorite albums of hers already imo its like she took my favorite production elements from how im feeling now and added those sounds to the song structures I liked in Crash.

Rewind’s production really reminds me of SOPHIE. Not necessarily the sound of the synths but the placement of them? Idk how to explain but like the cadence in the instrumentals it’s very SOPHIE.
