I mean it was just two weeks ago she said that Taxi would “be released someday” so  it’s not like it’s far fetched, i’m sure she still cares about plenty of the tracks from that time period, damn

Being asked about taxi vs an album where she’s said countless times she wouldn’t consider releasing because it was leaked are two very different situations.

 

Plus sonically and lyrically doesn’t fit with the themes of CRASH.

Sometimes I wish she'd just thrown out XCX World in 2018, even as a mixtape... 

 

The monthly drops was a perfect opportunity to promote a new album alongside a (already leaked) project for fans. I understand why she didn't but at least that way fans would've moved on from that era...

 

1999 and Blame It On Your Love as singles to promote it, alongside buzz singles Girls Night Out and No Angel. Which would still be monthly drops alongside 5 In The Morning and Focus which would promote the new 3rd album.

 

Plus the inclusion of After The Afterparty and Boys for streams and certifications.

i feel like charli probably wanted to get the bulk/faves of XCX world out during the droplet era but atlantic got scared when they saw how they weren't doing so well and stopped/only released 1999 after gno

The original comment mentioned a few retouched (which would fix the sonic differences btw) xcx world tracks not the whole album 😭 

 

i just brought up taxi bc it was an xcx world track at one point, and she just mentioned it in a positive way so recently

just a theory but charli has always said that taxi is sophie's song, and sophie's posthumous release is probably coming soon. maybe charli said that because it's on transnation or a compilation album?
