aww i’ve been on lb for almost 6 years and it’s clear the culture on here is sick right now. it used to be better when there wasn’t ass kissing and people weren’t for forbidden from certain topics. 
 
i really like you too so thanks for advice tho bestie!! i’m too busy being baddie right now to start a forum. but maybe i’ll look into it. i’ll send you an invite of course! 

I’m pro- keeping the ads, but I’m very anti- users shaming other users for having technical problems due to the ads. 

so yeah when are we getting the cocc theme 

i was mostly joking but honestly the ads suck and make me not even want to visit the site anymore..
 
i would suggest an open fundraiser that users can donate if, when and how much they want to. 
 
$2 a month can be a lot for some of our international users..
 
also if you do end up implementing monthly subscriptions, i hope some of the rules are followed for everyone? including mods or friends?

payment for an ad free website is discrimination towards the users that cannot afford that! we need to speak up! this website is supporting elitism!

Also my suggestion would be to grandfather the 1,000 users who are online the most with a pop up ad free edition and new members would have to pay. 
 
Also the user list badly needs to be purged. there’s thousands of members who have haven’t signed in 6 years

Out of the same mouth y’all are saying you care about our opinions but also say we should leave if we don’t like it. What the fuck. 

I don't think anyone thinks the pop up ads are 'intolerable' or 'unbearable' cuz that is dramatic af and kinda strawmanish. they are at most annoying and unreasonable, which is a good reason to not have them. if the money is necessary for keeping the site up that is one thing. if its some extra cash thats another thing. I will say, no other forum I use has pop up ads. 
 
edit- if this a basically a matter of if the pop up ad revenue is necessary for Elle to keep the site up, im confused what our opinions on ads are supposed to do?

If they aren’t sketchy I don’t really mind them that much cause they’re closed in a second, but I do think it’ll probably lead to new users avoiding this site. If I were to find a new forum and the first thing I see is an ad taking up most of the screen I’d probs hesitate on making an account. It gives a very 123movies vibe. We already know it’s nothing scammy, but idk if new users will.
