  1. I would assume that it's almost a bit too obscure for them, with most being younger, newer fans. BTD can still hit as a new album these days, as can everything after it, but AKA does sound a bit older and more niche, which is exactly why I love it. But reading back on most of these comments, whatever the dislike is about, it sounds ridiculous. I am familiar with the girlblogger side of tiktok and tumblr loving aka because it aligns with their toxic glorification of lana pre-2015. But it also seems there are some that hate it because of that too?

    BANKS

I never dreamed we'd get so many leaks. Those that have jumped to my faves:
  3. The truth I'm actually offended. How dare she. But was there more? I need more
  4. You are what you are. I don't matter to anyone. All the pretty stars shine for you my love. I like to see everything in neon. Drink lime green, stay up till dawn. If you dance, I'll dance. And if you don't, I'll dance anyway. Are you gonna hurt me now, or are you gonna hurt me later? Everything is fine now ^ especially being after the interlude, opening the second half of the album. And ofc Cruel World, Wild One and AFFA opening lines which I saw mentioned already.

    Hit & Run

Some of her best lyrics actually. This was one of the first unreleased pop songs I found, so I'll always associate Hit & Run with Serial Killer and Heavy Hitter
  6. Not her original but I'm obsessed with this I love Burnt Norton as well. If she incorporated spoken poetry into her songs (like Violet mixed with vocal albums) I would go OFF.
  7. For some reason I always saw Lana's posts reposted by the Lanaboards instagram first Honeymoon was always hidden from my feed despite me following for 8 years. But no it won't affect me at all.
  8. French Restaurant >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  9. I didn't think so but ok haha. I was just brainstorming the connection and liked the differing points.
  10. I got into Princess Chelsea purely because of this comparison made! I never knew that's exactly what the song is about. Wow. That does connect the two more, despite me not 100% believing Heroin intentionally samples it.
  11. I think the relation is a sea rescue vs. another sea rescue. But yeah, people will always be interested in something they haven't heard about before. I think from @Velourspost, it's still interesting to point out that while one disaster on the ocean is because of people not having enough money and wanting a better life in a country that may allow them more resources vs. The other disaster being allowed because of someone with too much money and resources, and people with too much money paying to use it. One situation didn't have the resources to make a safe trip because it was life or death. The other did but chose to cut corners for the fun of it. Edit: also the very core of both of these problems are political and legal right? Government not doing enough for people, and loopholing through safety regulations?
  12. BTD: in the city and by the pool Paradise: in the mountains or anywhere with a view of the city Ultraviolence: suburban streets Honeymoon: a sunny park on the grass Lust For Life: on a road trip through the country NFR: kind of everywhere tbh COTCC: in the country/rural areas Blue Bannisters: at home and on the veranda Ocean Boulevard: by the ocean, on a boardwalk.
  13. The last time I was so invested in search & rescue efforts over days was for the Thailand cave rescue 5 years ago. Sad that this one didn't end well, but the thought of retrieving their bodies after oxygen ran out after who knows how long, was such a horrible thought. I hope they didn't feel or notice a thing.
  14. The teaser looks so good I could see Blue Velvet being in this, but tbh I hope they go with actual songs from the past. I want Priscilla's story told, so she should hand pick the songs (she did say she likes Lana tho )
  15. Lana seems to be making so many streaming records and personal track/album records over the last few months, especially since SYTH. It's like everyone is diving deep into her music again (and some maybe for the first time). This is right after an album release that is half slept on. She doesn't even need to keep us hooked on every song anymore. Also, I think she reaches further and wider than Beyonce. It's a different type of fan base with significantly different demographics (that's not to say they don't overlap at all), so a straight up comparison isn't saying what's really happening. But I still think this is an amazing achievement.

    Poppy

Takes me straight back to Danny Elfman as Jack in TNBC and the M*rilyn M*nson and Korn covers in Nightmare Revisited album.
  17. An acoustic version of Dealer where she still yells would be so good, followed by an acoustic Heart Shaped Box cover with those same vocals
  18. Thank you! I am always so consumed by the Ultraviolence timeline, I never have the time to look into my FAVOURITE album's creation. Honeymoon just seems too untouchable to me, but I will always want to know more.
  19. I scratch my answer. THIS is the best. Her breathing at the beginning is awakening!
  20. The beginning of HBTB is everything. When is she going to use distortion like that again Also: The ending of Brooklyn Baby: "ba duh ba ba ba dee dahh" The humming at the beginning of Ride, and at the end of The Good Life. The improvised ending of Summer Wine: "ba da ba ba ba doo" or whatever. Love that sooooo much.
