  1. Definitely Lana was the first. In 2012 Summertime Sadness, BTD and Carmen actually changed my life because of her imagery (previously all singers that i were drawn to were goth and rock queens like Amy Lee) to how deep she sang (i always wanted to sing those belting high notes vut am NOT a soprano, and had never heard a strong alto voice besides Shirley Manson), to the themes of death and destruction (always my preferred themes in music lol, but had never heard it in pop music before). Only those few songs could show me everything and I was just taken. No other discovery since then has really changed me except maybe Grimes and Nostalghia the following year. Nostalghia continues to change me with all her releases.

    Grimes

I've just started watching Death Note and now Shinigami Eyes is making sense and seems a little better than I previously thought

I'm kinda obsessed with miss belladonna
  4. Seven years So we're excluding her covers from 2015ish and earlier? No Summertime, The Good Life or Heart Shaped Box then But at least none of her covers have ever been anything less than masterpieces
  5. I'm not sure Lana knows how much of a legend she is for writing Angels Forever Forever Angels and Madly. They're such classic rock songs that are timeless and I really think they would hit gen x-z in a certain way. At least she got Ride out there, but AFFA and Madly are the same energy (and maybe easier to listen with your family )
  6. She's had plenty of beautiful stage looks this year but this one is SO classic Lana, while also not completely-done-before Her hair is back to all its glory
  7. This is definitely it. Her image also stood out and people wanted to tear it apart. Yeah I think thats true too. Olivia is slightly different to the early 2000s Disney stars in the way that she gets more vulnerable with her songs, spilling about her relationships etc. People would have hated that even in the 2010s, like all the shit Taylor swift got.
  8. I love them! Saw them live at a festival once and they were so fun to watch. I also love their collab King Slayer with BMTH. They're one of those bands I know I need to get into more.
  9. In every single case, yes! (Not so say movies can't be good too tho) Do you agree that Lana objectively has no single best album?
  10. In the loungeroom on my laptop on youtube. I remember so specifically. A moment that changed me forever. Where were you when you last bought something?
  11. Well for where i am in the world, it was likely the next day already and i would have been at school in year 4, hating my life Where were you when you first heard about/ read about coronavirus?
  12. Red nails with multiple rings make any item you're carrying look 10x more glamorous

Detention grew on me hard! It is a pretty simple song with simple production but it's such a vibe, and really doesn't feel like it's missing anything.
  15. Glad I skipped the YA novel era. I know books are always better, but when i did check out some of the movies adapted from YA novels, all of them seemed so overrated with cringe romances. I know the audience is for teens, but I was never even interested as a teen
  16. I don't like the friends in his videos. I think mrbeast himself is fine, and maybe he does care about charity, but his friends 100% don't.
  17. The Big Eyes/I Can fly/Wait For Life era between Ultraviolence and Honeymoon
  18. Another also, why is the Primadonna - Burns remix sound ahead of its time for 2012? I get pure 2015 indie trippy vibes with this remix.
  19. I'm on a complete Electra Heart binge and I can't believe when the "title track" was first posted on YouTube I thought it sounded like a cheap remix, but it's become my favourite and to me, feels like the pillar and summary of the EH era. It's the perfect 2010s electronic track. Even the minor dubstep influence doesn't stop it from being completely iconic. Also, I have to say Marinas vocals on the album are so underrated. She really did so much.

Still my fave. I go wild for this. Also, I think she lowkey samples this. My bf listens to this song and every time it plays I'm just singing Flux at 0.75 speed in my head.
  21. These issues are solved with firefox now too. Thank you @hotshot2am and @prettywhenimhigh
  22. It worked! Thank you so much! And this is still on mobile. Guess I'll just have a separate app for Lanaboards now
  23. I thought this would work! But i just tried on Samsung Internet (not connected to the same email as Google is) and nothing changes :/
