Listening to Always Ready To Lose You takes me straight back to 2014-2015, even tho I only heard it for the first time this year. It's such a shame it wasn't released back then, because it would have been a HIT. The sound it has is so early 2010s pop. It's almost sickening because it makes me think of songs that would have played at the "college" parties I went to when I was 17 and 18.

I so badly need to update my UV timeline blog. Haven't touched it since before Boz spilled everything. But it's so interesting that Melancholia + He Hit Me coz he loves me lead to the Ultraviolence that we got. + more of the Lana and Barrie rule the world days. Idk why they didn't do more with their work together. Like an album wouldn't have been necessary, but if they had performed some of those songs in an acoustic live session or something. Imagine

My ex best friend showed it to me, saying that I would like it bc it's creepy. And she was right

I've been a fan since dollhouse in late 2014. And halsey since 2015. I loved seeing them rise and take over, especially melanie because she was so unique. Melanie literally went hand-in-hand with all the trends at the time. the short pastel goth trend on tumblr, the bigger interest in makeup starting in 2014, and the dark lyrics commentating society was actually hella grunge.
-
That's actually awesome! I suppose because Melanie isn't "a tik tok artist" I thought the additional fans from that platform would be minor, and assumed everyone hyping her there were already old fans. I'm wrong already (I also never liked Play date )
-
I love the song, and I love that she loves it too and wants it to be her most streamed. But I HIGHLY doubt it will, bc Playdate may always be that, and I doubt it will even surpass Pacify Her. I have a feeling everyone IS going to checkout the song/album/movie and she might even get new fans, but people aren't going to be obsessed with it the way we were with Crybaby in 2015-2016. She isn't dominating a single platform like tumblr anymore, where she defined some of the aesthetic too, but I would love to be proven wrong tbh. I think Void will be #1 streamed on the album tho.

He was "game over"

Is Barrie the one she's singing about?
-
Nvm I literally added nothing
-
Oh shit I forgot about venus fly trap. That one IS cool.
-
The title track is the only one I know well from the album, and I agree, done super well, and i love the high energy. It stands out but all the others must be forgettable
-
Honestly the whole album had aged poorly before it was even released I never listened again after the release day (But I would love to love it. I will give it another try)

The video is amazing, funny and so weird. I applaud the fuck out of her for doing whatever she wants, whatever is meaningful to her, without caring about looking hot, or even looking "good". The closeups made me want to move my face further away from the screen and I actually loved it. I can't wait to see the world she's building and where it all goes, too.
-
I can't wait for this to keep rolling out. She's taken an album/era concept to the next level, yet she's switched up the song production so much that is actually hasnt confined that to the concept

I hope she tries a more cohesive concept again, but she will probably just continue to be wild and free -
Definitely not, I'd say those who are still waiting are just not posting, probably trying to avoid spoilers it must be such a weird time when an album is released like this, cause the artist knows its making a wave around the world and just waiting for the responses to roll in (tho in this case I don't think she cares)

Yes!!!

Lana song(s) you simply cannot listen to anymore
Ultra Violet replied to honeymo0n's topic in Lana Thoughts
To be quite frank, I'm tired of hearing stans say shit like "if you cant get that its a joke then u dont get lana del ray xoxo" like, WE KNOW and it's valid and OK for us to not be able to get around it and love it. It's the video most of all that makes me cringe with the actual footage of little girls. I think it's also funny, but I'm just not that into satire or irony or whatever it is, on that particular topic. It's a nice song and if it wasnt for that certain lyric it definitely would be a favourite, but it makes me squirm so I just avoid it -
Finally getting her say I love her. she just hits so different to other artists.
