I love the early versions of every song we have those versions for. It depends what mood I'm in- if I feel like a quieter chill sound, or a more "filled out" sound.

I've only played a few hours of it on xbox, but want to get into it so bad. What console do you use? I think I should try it on switch where I'd be more likely to play it.

I agree with III being a mess with the mastering. It's totally possible to have rough sounds without adjusting them to make my ears bleed (Till Now I'm looking at you!). The album really didn't need to do that. Even in parts of some of the better sounding songs, like Gimme, it still hurts my ears a bit. I always think of Goddess as so smooth, while the Altar introduced the roughness perfectly. So even tho iii is a great album, it really still doesn't compare to how good the first two were in every way. Vocals on iii are a bit messed up as well.

This would definitely work for me (minus Holding back lol) I'd take I Still Love You as a good album closer too. It could be my favourite Banks piano ballad.

Finally flicked through the GrimesAI songs. Overall a painful experience and wish I could unhear most. Some I found ok were MICROHARD, Concept of Creation, Cats Heart Savers (maybe the only one ill go back to), ID 2050.

I can backtrack quite far, to when I was 6 years old. Listening to CDs on road trips is definitely what defined most of my earliest "albums of the year". And many of these are delayed if the album came out late the previous year. 2003: Delta Goodrem - Born To Try 2004: Hillary Duff - Metamorphosis 2005: *nothing. Didn't go on a big road trip lol!* 2006: Rogue Traders - Here Come The Drums 2007: Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing 2008: The Veronicas - Hook Me Up 2009: Owl City - Ocean Eyes & Lady Gaga - The Fame 2010: Paramore - Brand New Eyes 2011: Evanescence - self titled 2012- 2013: Born To Die 2014: Ultraviolence 2015 - now: *too many*. Probably 2-3 from each year that I cbf listing. -
I would assume that it's almost a bit too obscure for them, with most being younger, newer fans. BTD can still hit as a new album these days, as can everything after it, but AKA does sound a bit older and more niche, which is exactly why I love it. But reading back on most of these comments, whatever the dislike is about, it sounds ridiculous. I am familiar with the girlblogger side of tiktok and tumblr loving aka because it aligns with their toxic glorification of lana pre-2015. But it also seems there are some that hate it because of that too?

I never dreamed we'd get so many leaks. Those that have jumped to my faves:

The truth I'm actually offended. How dare she. But was there more? I need more

You are what you are. I don't matter to anyone. All the pretty stars shine for you my love. I like to see everything in neon. Drink lime green, stay up till dawn. If you dance, I'll dance. And if you don't, I'll dance anyway. Are you gonna hurt me now, or are you gonna hurt me later? Everything is fine now ^ especially being after the interlude, opening the second half of the album. And ofc Cruel World, Wild One and AFFA opening lines which I saw mentioned already.

Some of her best lyrics actually. This was one of the first unreleased pop songs I found, so I'll always associate Hit & Run with Serial Killer and Heavy Hitter

Not her original but I'm obsessed with this I love Burnt Norton as well. If she incorporated spoken poetry into her songs (like Violet mixed with vocal albums) I would go OFF.

I think the relation is a sea rescue vs. another sea rescue. But yeah, people will always be interested in something they haven't heard about before. I think from @Velourspost, it's still interesting to point out that while one disaster on the ocean is because of people not having enough money and wanting a better life in a country that may allow them more resources vs. The other disaster being allowed because of someone with too much money and resources, and people with too much money paying to use it. One situation didn't have the resources to make a safe trip because it was life or death. The other did but chose to cut corners for the fun of it. Edit: also the very core of both of these problems are political and legal right? Government not doing enough for people, and loopholing through safety regulations? -
BTD: in the city and by the pool Paradise: in the mountains or anywhere with a view of the city Ultraviolence: suburban streets Honeymoon: a sunny park on the grass Lust For Life: on a road trip through the country NFR: kind of everywhere tbh COTCC: in the country/rural areas Blue Bannisters: at home and on the veranda Ocean Boulevard: by the ocean, on a boardwalk.
