  1. The "subtle piano" i believe is very similar to that in Beautiful and Black Bathing Suit. This literally what I asked for Her backup singers too (trying to find their names) i can never get enough of
  2. The reason i already think highly of this album is because of the effort that seems to have been put in so far. Lots of producers and collaborators, and also Neil, tells me that things will be different, even if it doesnt take me straight back to BTD-Paradise, UV or Honeymoon. I dont think it will surprise us with something totally new, but I think it will sound like a reasonable and positive progression from what shes recently done
  3. The red and white vinyls "big orchestras" Neil Neil Neil I think im still dreaming Edit: wait its out!???
  4. Anyone listen to Electric Callboy? I saw them at Good Things festival. Me and 5 other friends were so excited as we are all new fans, so we got to the front of the audience and waited for over an hour for them to start. We assumed the mosh pit wouldnt be so bad as they dont seem like theyd have aggressive fans but BOY were we wrong. We all got split up immeadiately as the first song started and had to fight our way out. The mosh pit was not just jumping and pushing forward like ive been in before for BFMV, it was everyone being knocked side to side, back and forth, and it took all my goddamn effort to stay on my feet and not end up on the floor, plus my boyfriend pulling me back up when my knees buckled. I couldnt even hear the song because i was in full fight or flight mode. Safe to say im never going up front to the centre again! Im going to Knotfest next year and will happily stay near the mid-back. Any bad moshpit stories from anyone else here? :,)
  5. If COTCC had more etheral production in line with the title track and TJF i would absolutely get around it more. The folk after folk and piano after piano done by Jack just doesnt hit. The title track feels truly experimental to me, and actually goes well with how Jack describes his style. That song ripples through my spirit and makes me feel free for real. Most of the rest of the album is boring bar music to me, sorry, i said it.
  6. I dont really consider it preachy at all, but it seems like such a downgrade from the vibe of the original video she posted. It went from something raw and honest to something unnecessarily extended and cheapened. The instrumental is still so cute tho, and i stand by this mashup version
  7. That is so impossible! But ill try, based on those that I listened to most when it was released. Aint Your Right Nobody Asked Me I Blame Myself Youre Not The One Heavy Metal Heart I Will Because i was a pleb that downloaded from youtube, Kristine, Omanko, Boys & NTMT were the ones i listened to last, a few months later when i realised it was a full album
  8. She kinda alludes to both themes that we mentioned, and where lana leaves gaps, we try to fill them and are probably always wrong. Between BBS and Text book, its so intriguing but so confusing.
  9. Back again BBS - i thought it was Kinda wish I was with my father
  10. I listened to the livestream where Lana said that she'd dug deeper into the past, said it was scary, and clearly didnt want to talk about it more. I thought she meant the past beyond her parents. Her ancestors are still her family afterall. And since QFTC brought up racism, I thought it may be something in the past to do with racism that deeply upset her. Something she might have wanted to make up for when she donated to Navajo Nation, etc. (Tho i believe shed have done that regardless) I was asking the question in case someone knew more, and we dont, so i am very happy to drop that speculation. Edit: just going to explain a bit more of why that came to mind to begin with, even tho now i think it's unresolved. "Why there's a price on my head [QFTC fiasco], is nothing to do with them, its my karmic lineage [its what she got as karma from something that happened in her family's past], so im not friends with my mother [so its to do with that side of the family?] So yeah, feel free to find whatever you want between those lines because i dont think she wanted it to be obvious to any of us.
  11. https://marinamasterpost.blogspot.com/2020/02/masterpost-love-fear-love-fear-acoustic.html?m=1 Most of these arent working but at least i got the EH instrumentals. All im currently needing are the Power & Control demos
  12. The last good season imo and definitely better on second watch. I agree at the time it came out we were all politically-exhausted, and not that it ever stopped, but yeah, we can laugh now
  13. I know Burning Desire is sometimes included with Paradise but i'd choose that if it counts. It really is her sexiest song and its always being forgotten! DH orchestral version supremacy!!!!
  14. Ultra Violet

    Jazmin Bean

Youre so right tho and yes same ill absolutely still give it a chance. Jazmin's looks have also remained consistently amazing so it will still entice me either way.

It is a gorgeous music video! And im mad that i dont like the song bc i also like some of Lucy Loones work. I really cant explain what it is, but maybe its the lack of nu-metal x fairy sound? The production doesnt hit me anymore its now more like the WWT songs that werent my faves, and i almost dont distinguish each new song from the next now. I sound so ignorant

I havent liked any release since the WWT release, and all of the good songs were already out by that time imo
  17. Ultra Violet

    Melanie Martinez

She looks so lush. I love it Im needing these twitter bitches to step outside and look at real people. She not only looks completely normal and healthy, she looks stunning! Not that that should matter, but im just saying! Fffff youre right, literally in their bio they say theyre fatphobic what the flying fuck?
  18. FROOT records would be so cute tbh
  19. "They say im too young to love you they say im too dumb to see" Just listened to the brooklyn baby acapella and its sing???
  20. Ive always praised the instrumentals of BTD, Badlands and Crybaby so its ABOUT TIME i appreciate Electra Heart's instrumentals! I am in a whole Electra Heart 2013 world when i listen to them (since i discovered the album that year, not in 2012 unfortunately). The demos are so fascinating too, and some i prefer over the final, although i cant fault the final production either. Everything was pure genius. She really went hard. Excellent producers.
  21. I think this is very much like what she was going for with Ultraviolence. The way she talked about bright violets and blues, and how the album originally had a cultish, dark and spiritual direction. Edit: also i cant see the picture you linked
  22. I missed my 10 year Lana stan anniversary sometime back in September, but Ride was the first release i got to experience as it came out Happy 10 years Paradise! I remember it took me a few listens to warm up to Cola and Body Electric but wow this EP called to me like a siren song. I think objectively, Paradise is her best work.
  23. Wow i really love to see those Jesse Jo Stark songs in here! They definitely go well with Honeymoon (and also some of het others go well with Ultraviolence)
