Maybe this just wasn’t a good single choice, but I hope her album overall is better. I appreciate the concept of this song being a fun cute bop with butterfly symbolism, but it just feels a little basic. I know miss girl can do better! it’s just an okay song 

To be honest, I think the only thing that gets A+ from me (but again, who am I to judge the entire song - a nobody) in this song is her vocal performance. Her vocals get stronger with each album.

For anyone who might be interested in this new interview with The Nexus that was released yesterday which mentions Lana:
 
To sum it up the talking points:
- He was sent demos from his publishing (Sony) to try and get him and Lana to work together
- She was introduced to him as Lizzy Grant but by the time they actually met she was fully transformed into Lana Del Rey
- They did a 2 hour writing session for a song inspired by Sugababes
- Lana played them an early demo of Video Games
- Briefly touches on recording Nation Anthem (Would have have been 'I Want It All' version)

what is a lana quote that hasnt stuck with me lol, thats the real question?
tbh, alot of lines from LFL album dramatically pulled the threads of the world into a whole to reveal what it really is now to me. here are my favs:

i understood it like this:
”is a threat not a promise?” - if somebody is threatening to leave the relationship amidst an argument, it is almost like they are telling the other person that they will leave either way. when you threaten to leave, you’re promising that you will, now or one day, because a mere argument can push your thoughts in that direction. 
“quiet for days, baby, running away” - this likely refers to the act of leaving the relationship itself, or the person is being extra avoidant in the relationship and not showing their feelings, which causes the other person harm.
“if you’re looking for rage/raging” - this is like a way of saying “you want chaos, i’ll give you chaos”. it seems like the other partner has abusive tendencies (threatening to leave, silent treatment, provocation) and essentially wants lana to react and to make a huge deal in order to turn the conflict into something to blame her for.
