I’m hopping on this to say that I’m kind of frustrated with her lately for this exact reason. She seems to be trying to prove herself by making the most authentic music? There’s so many name drops and her music is full of pointless anecdotes or just like “Jenny’s in the pool”. Like, to the point where if she’s scrapping songs because it’s no longer authentic to her current life, it’s getting out of hand.

I can’t say if that’s the reason for the scraps but honestly with the “let me write my own story” or whatever she said, I’m not the biggest fan. Love her and her music is great no matter what but I think she needs to stop worrying what people think about her music bc it’s kind of saturating it

I just saw the trailer for Halsey's album and it is phenomenal, I mention this to say that when a singer puts effort into an album and in the unfolding of the era it is much more fun, exciting and entertaining to enjoy the era, not like Lana with chemtrails that, if you guys ask me, I could almost say that that era NEVER existed. I hope the same does not happen with BB aka LDR8... I really want Lana to put laziness aside and put more effort on giving us an era with visuals and a concept that is striking (BTD for example) but hey... I love Lana and I love her music but honestly and being objective stanning her sometimes it is boring compared to other artists.

I want to clarify that this is not hatred against her, she is my favourite singer and I love her music but as I said, sometimes we die of hunger due to the lack of interaction or lack of determination to take an era to the maximum, the last time that happened. It was with Norman because as I said chemtrails was born and died  a week after cus of the lack of promotion either in advertising or singles with videos.

I don't remember very well how Lana played the other eras but Norman and BTD and maybe LFL are the only ones that come to mind when I think of an era in which the album is called really harnessed, to mention other albums: 1989, Future Nostalgia , WWAFA, WDWG ?, etc etc.

When it comes to her music, Lana has lied and ghosted us before but this time has really pissed me off more than the other times. She takes her fans for granted - that’s obvious - but to continuously be so upfront with it?? It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Lately, I’m really disliking the sides of her that we’re seeing which is a shame because her 2011-2015 artistry is really close to my heart :/

Why is sister Lana posting stuff she would regret it a couple of weeks later?
I'm starting to feel like Lana is quite a shaky person for everything. Why not complete an album and reveal small snippets like a normal artis in the age of social media?

I've been looking forward to the newest album by The Marias too and I can't help but compare how they handle the pre release era vs Lana. The small indie band sent their fans a piece of a puzzle of the albums artwork for fans to reveal it on social media, then they released a song, then its music video in May, than another song, then a teaser of the album, a pre order of the vinyl and now they're about to release it on streaming platforms in a day. Meanwhile Lana... whatever she's up to.

And can she stop bitching about fame? If she's so tired of it, what's the necessity of announcing new projects every time that she opens her mouth?

Ya other than the occasional dailymail paparazzi pic (which conveniently ALWAYS happen when she’s with that one older lady she is friends with, Candace or whatever, lowkey feel like she calls the paps) she could literally go her entire life with getting a handful of fans asking for pics and that is it

right if she’s so tired of being famous (sidenote: she’s not even THAT famous) she could easily just fuck off and retire lol. No one is forcing her to embarrass herself on a weekly basis lol

Then might I suggest she disappear into whichever corner of the earth she would like to given she has hundreds of millions of dollars of wealth and not release an album distributed by the most famous record label on the planet

    just a THOUGHT

The lack of effort and the toned down production isn’t the artistic statement she thinks it is... such a mess.

Lana feels poor in the sense that I feel she is more human and closer to people, she has always liked to get out of her mundane circle and be around the poor (the trailer park, the homeless, alcoholics associations). It's a quality but I can't stand her bringing it back every time she has never experienced real poverty, she has chosen it as a way of life, as a way out of her rich cocoon but d 'come back to it. always for safety (she only stayed a few months in an old mobile home during the AKA adventure before returning to her luxury loft in New York with her sister).

It is true that with all the respect I have for her, without her father and his connections, she would never have succeeded, at least in the whole world, and that is why it remains exceptional. The start of her career was very expensive and very luxurious (I remember the first concerts in Paris which were in expensive places, clips like Born to die made in Versailles for an unknown singer ...), so I see where she wants to go with the poor thing of life and i feel like she has it under control but complaining and remembering that she lived a shit life, ah Lana i don't believe you at all and i dont would never have mercy.

I think being famous is indeed hard and isolating, but i also don’t feel bad for her or anyone else at the end of the day. Being a musician does not look like hard work lol. And specifically Lana, she gets to work completely at her own pace while she travels the world and parties in LA, so like, girl stop whining lmfao.

Dance till we die has to have some of her most nauseating lyrics

I don’t think I have ever rolled my eyes harder than I do when she sings “troubled by my circumstance burdened by the weight of fame”

I really hope she gets out of singing about how difficult it is to be famous soon - but I unfortunately think the next album will, at least thematically, be the same except from an even stronger victim mindset since she feels everyone is out to get her

More meditations on the royal family on her next album. Candle in the wind was just the beginning

ETA: Lana views things by how iconic they look and doesn’t consider any context. (Queen of) Judging things by a picture book that she forgot to read

I miss when she seemed to be so invested in her music and her art. She used to be in interviews nervous as hell and be straight up weird, but the second they asked her about actual music, she would perk right up and get so excited. She loved talking about “her records” and what they mean to her and how she made them, etc.

when she performed live, she seemed like she actually cared. She would get sad during the sad songs, smile during the happy ones, etc. Idk how to describe it, other than the fact that she seemed like she really just *felt* it. Same with her music videos, they just felt more personal and like she actually took pride and effort in making them.

now, I think the word I would use to describe her is “aloof.” She could care less these days, that’s the vibe I’m getting. I understand that she’s about to be like a ten year vet in the industry, so ofc shes older and less bright-eyed about everything, but still. It all just feels so impersonal now.

Her interviews are about anything but music, and when she does actually remember she’s a musician and not a politician or a psychologist, she’s like “oh yeah I made the record, it’s okay I guess.” Her live performances, she seems bored. She just kinda sways around and barely sings, fussing about her vape instead of the people paying to hear her perform. Half the time she looks like she’d rather be somewhere else. Music videos (except for Chemtrails I will give her that) look like they were made on an iPhone in her backyard. Because they were.

And I’m not making this about “ugh NFR sucks hahaha” because I’m not even talking about the music itself. I just mean her. She has reason to be more mature and jaded and perhaps tired and “over it.” But if you’re so over it, take a vacation instead of just seeming bored and frustrated. The music is gonna hit regardless bc Shes Lana Del Rey and she is incapable of making bad music. But if she doesnt want to do it anymore, or at least right now, girl take a break. You seem so disinterested in music lol.

Damn i fucking ramble a lot

It's probably not just about being alone, she's nearly 36 and wants a kid so I doubt she wants to waste another year
  25. Ladyjj liked a post in a topic by Guitar Beat in Instagram Updates
    That's true.

I think Lana should just put this album out there and not talk about the issues on Instagram or other interviews. Let the music speak for itself, if she wants to address any of the controversies in the past year. I get that she feels bad or tired of all the flack she got over the years, but she is still in a good place IMO. Her music is critically acclaimed and she has a loyal fanbase.
