God, I wish we had another Lana song as bitter and hateful as this song. You can literally hear her seething with anger in her voice during this song.
  2. The outfit is great but her facial expression is just...not.
  3. It's really unsettling how this song is the last on the tracklist. Almost the whole album is about this guy was addicted to drugs and he abused her both physically and mentally. Cruel World sets you up believing Lama will be happy to see him go, but Flipside at the end literally throws the whole thing onto its flipside - now she's suddenly like 'maybe we'll be together again in the future'; despite the awful way he has treated her, she still hopes for some form of reconciliation. It's dark, gloomy and falls into the category of 'unlistenable' that Lana hoped for the album. Also, I really like the parallels between this - the last track on the second (or third, depending how you see it) album - and Born to Die - the first track on the 'first' album. "Don't make me sad, don't make me cry" - "You don't wanna break me down, you don't wanna make me cry" It's really clever.
  4. I just don't get it, her face does not look good to me here:
  5. I don't think Lana looked attractive AT ALL during the emerging-from-the-pool scene in the SoC video. I've seen a lot of people posting about how flawless she looks in it, but I just don't see it myself. Her face looks all kinds of wrong (sorry honey) in the scene.
  6. Do we know where the name 'Westbound' emerged for Dear Elliot? With the other tracks on Sirens, the fanmade titles were created from lyrics in the songs (Next to Me - Would you like to sit next to me?), yet this song doesn't have the line 'westbound' in it at all.
  7. probably because that song is CRIMINALLY good
  8. "debut album" I know that the LDR album was only around for a short time BUT it was still commercially available soo
  9. its gonna be something like 'we met on the riverside' or 'we broke up on the riverside', where they mention riverside once or twice throughout the song. that's Mt guess.
  10. I hear 'drink your cherry cola lime' #sorrynotsorry

    Trash Magic

can anyone work out what she whispers during the last few verses? I think it's something like "sit right down"
  12. The video would kinda work for a filler track ie. Sad Girl. But Ultraviolence is not a filler track - it's possibly the most important track on the record (especially due to it being the title track). As such, it deserved something epic and at least a monologue.
  13. HOW many times is she gonna mention how Auerbach brought the fire back to her life...wouldn't be surprised if she was sucking off his fingers in the UV video
  14. god she is so DUMB....like Lana girl, I love you and all but you're so fucking stupid
  15. do you guys think she had a different idea for the video? because the 'Vice is running shit' thing got me thinking that maybe she had a different video planned, but vice took over and ideas changed...
  16. hmmm....I liked it, but I think she could've been more creative with it. I was expecting something a la You're Not The One video by Sky Ferreira. But I felt that the finger sucking helped the video to appear 'wrong' like the album, and the song itself, are intended to be.
  17. i'm hoping for a monologue bc this is the title track and sums up the album imo
  18. it's such a long shot, but Yayo would actually work on UV imo because of the way it glamorises drugs/drug addiction
  19. this looks great, I love how forlorn and scared Lana looks when she turns towards the camera.
  20. As much as I'd love for Lana to re-release LDR in done form, unfortunately, I don't think it's going to happen anymore. Plus, the LDR songs are rather different in tone to the UV ones and wouldn't really fit the album, even if she rerecorded them. The only track that could possibly fit imo is Jump because it's so dark.
  21. The whole of BTD, especially Video Games and Blue Jeans. Yayo (Paradise edition). Gods & Monsters. Guns and Roses. Daddy Issues. You're Gonna Love Me. Brooklyn Baby. Bollywood Hawaii. Trash Magic. Chelsea Hotel No 2. You Can Be The Boss. Puppy Love. Pin Up Galore. Heavy Hitter. Come When You Call Me (A.M.E.R.I.C.A.). Boarding School. Motel 6 (only disliked it cause i thought she was saying 'need somebody need somebody need somebody need somebody need somebody c-c-come on'). C U L8R Alligator. Behind Closed Doors. Scarface. Ridin'. Making Out. 1949. Your Band Is All The Rage. White Pontiac Heaven. Axl Rose Husband.
  22. I don't think she is homophobic nor has she said anything homophobic...she would be ostracising a huge proportion of her fanbase if she did so. The song 'For You' appears to be about someone coming out, which could mean that someone close to her is LGBT+. I think the difference between Cobain and her is that Kurt Cobain actively spoke against homophobia, whereas Lana hasn't really done so. She doesn't appear to be homophobic, but she just hasn't said anything promoted LGBT+ rights.
  23. inb4 we get Ultraviolence: The Yayo Edition
  24. I think the song is pretty much sarcastic. The verses are Lana being honest ('they judge me like a picture book/by the colours like they forgot to read') and the chorus is everyone's expectations of Lana - she is a 'Brooklyn baby', obsessed with America and tragedy. the ending is completely tongue in cheek and plays upon audience beliefs of Lana - she's self-assured and arrogant, according to their views.
