I figured the Mountain Dew was about that guy (can't remember his name) with longer hair on his myspace? Iirc he had a direct image of Diet Mountain Dew & even a picture of fetuses and how he wanted to name them Lana and Ray, which was also the man that potentially inspired Wayamaya?

Also Afraid is a song (to me) about escaping physical abuse, could she have 'extremified' the type of abuse and written along the same scenario you think? Like she had to leave because of his relapse and she was possibly afraid of his potential abuse or how much he'd wither?

    Lucky Ones too? holy shit

This isn't related to the quotes but I'm both amazed, terrified, and heartbroken reading all of this. Not because it's such a death ridden life but because it's so interesting reading all of this down to the specific wire. Even in it's early days literally nothing is ever NOT found on the internet, think about celebrities living similar lives to Lana's ten years ago but right now, everything they'll ever fucking do will be even more findable than these- and all these examples are from an internet era in which everything was harder to use.

It's also insane just seeing how much we know about one persons life- we have threads about her as Lizzy even fucking babysitting in photos, a thread about finding her boyfriend that supposedly murdered people and was sent for a death pentalty (the fact people have even found his NAME is scary.)- stuff so secret and private and yet here we are, hundreds of fans she doesn't know finding out everything about her- even information she herself probably had forgotten. It's also such a goddamn telling tale and fantasy, her life before fame is literally a plotline that would've been written as a book years ago and would've become a tragic literary american classic, I hope when she's older she can remember all of these things and produce a fully transparent auto biography, because her life is SUCH a work of art.

Every little reference just makes her entire discography that much richer and more telling, the simplest titles inspired some of her best work, i love her so, so much- she's the only person that deserves the entire world in my opinion

I was thinking about this, but I feel like she'd be regressing a bit if she did; LFL started out more like Honeymoon but did reach that bigger sound, like you said.
I have a feeling after this, Lana will go into a less pop but still contemporary direction -
maybe a surf rock sound or a glam, psychedelic guitar route, or even acoustic but with beats, like BAR.

I'm thinking the beats she'll use will be more organic though, not electronic like the beats on songs like In My Feelings or Coachella - I have a feeling she'll go more natural.

LFL was an album for the fans, and I think that's why it's so current, stylistically and lyrically - it's meant to reflect the modern world, whereas previous records have had a more organic, dreamlike sound because they were reflective of the world Lana built for herself through music.

I can see LFL lyrical themes like Heroin/Change/Get Free coming together with a sonic atmosphere that's like Ultraviolence but more "Kill Kill" sounding, with psychedelic, colourful visuals, like Paradise meets something similar to the LA to the Moon stage set.

Sorry, I kind of went on a tangent here, but I feel like as Lana gets older, she's going to retire that poppier sound, and I think this tour, where she dresses very current and where LFL as an album is somewhat stylistically current, is kind of like a "farewell" to that era of Lana, and we're going to explore a more mature side of her.

But who knows what the future holds?

I think so too! Thanks! Nice to see like-minded individuals here

I totally agree! I feel like Lana records have always had a general sonic vibe to them that makes them so cohesive, but with LFL, it's incredibly diverse, so I could totally see multiple directions!

I think her BTD days are def behind us. I guess wouldn't mind another radio song though to balance out the rest of the album. I keep going back to the Complex interview b/c she was so revealing and talked a lot about not shying away from the bigness of it all. She talked about how UV and HM were here being a bit introspective and she wanted to come out more with LFL.

Regardless of the sound - I think her next record will be really interesting b/c it could go any direction (or maybe multiple directions in one record).

My take on Ride, changing the line "Just one hit song" is now 6 years after Born to Die, playing arenas bigger than ever, 2 #1 albums
    (along with 2 #2 albums)

" riding the ride ...I had to decide, to play someone's game or live my own life"
(which like all great songwriters/poets before her could be taken two ways to let the listener decide, however sometimes one needs a nudge if one isn't seeing it, and her changing the word is that nudge

She did it HER way not THE way all prior girls were FORCED to do in a 100% misogynist music industry where she kept her vision,
her ideas, thoughts, words, poems, sounds

(so in essence she could end Ride with the coda of "My Way"(changing the pronouns to female and using this as a musical reference)
    For what is a woman
    What has she got
If not herself, then she has naught
To say the things she truly feels
and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
BUT I did it My Way

because no female singer since perhaps Madonna, has before done what she did, breaking all the rules to come out on top bigger than ever.
(and being that Sinatra and Elvis were the biggest acts of the 40s/50s and Lana is the best act of the 2000-2018 years and going
and being that she herself has mentioned The  Sinatra family and Elvis prior)
(and almost all the current female singers are still on the #1 hit merry-go-round or trying to be the next of them)

    not to mention-
I like her statement today about the women marches and the walls that are being broken.

I’ve never been good at formatting. So here’s this shitty infopost for y’all!

    reputation speculation

To answer some of OP’s questions
    - What significance do cars play? She mentions eight in total (white Corvette, white Pontiac, blue Chevy Nova/Chevrolet, Cadillac convertible, Mercedes, pickup truck, Lamborghini, Bugatti Veyron)

Lana most likely got her theme of cars from a boyfriend in 2010. This boyfriend, called Ron, had moved in with her along with Chuck in June 2010 (i’ll explain this later). Ron was a mechanic and used the apartment as a resource for his mechanic business.

    - When was she/who was she with in New York City and New Jersey? Ditto LA? Most mysterious and pressing, her time in the South?

This is a rather tricky question. Regarding the South, according to housing records, Lana actually never lived in the South. Charlie had lived in Arizona from October 2011 to May 2012, but that’s really all. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lana spent some time there in Mesa or whatever . I can see many Mexican-American influences being there pre-Tropico. For the South-East side, her parents do own properties in southern Florida.

Let’s go to the origins of property in New York City. Looking at property dates, the earliest file is Chuck moving in with Lana in July 2009. It seems like Lana was just with Chuck during her time living in New York (that beginning July 2009) and Ron, as I said previously. Although, what is most strange about this is the initial move was the the last one within NYC. The duo moved literally 0.7 away from the first apartment. What is most strange? The apartment has previous owners also with the same last names (that being Depaul & Daly). My head tells me something like, they moved there because there was some weird ass sibling special sale going on and they wanted to move away from Ron. Who knows.

New Jersey is a different story. Naomi’s first move was to New Jersey in a suburban home in April 2008. In April 2010 she moved to Jersey City. Was her move Lana related?
Naomi was already working with Lana in late 2009.

Naomi then moved out of Jersey City back to the suburbans in June 2011.

During the time period of April 2010-June 2011 (Jersey City) all of Naomi’s Lana pre-fame post-brunette photos were taken.

    December 2010

    February 2011

Naomi, back in New Jersey, then moved to NYC in May 2012 to August 2012. Just a 5-minute walk from Chuck & Lana’s apartment.

Mind you during the time period of the city hiatus Lana was getting shot by Chuck, Nicole, Martin and others for promo shoots. She was only brought along for National Anthem.

Naomi goes back to the suburbs. Strangely, Naomi moves back in with them in October 2016. Shortly after Lana and Chuck move out in November 2016.

Oh, and I saved the best for last.

Nicole lived with Lana and Chuck from August 2011 to September 2012. She then returned to the New Jersey suburbs.

    Questions:
Did Lana really live in New Jersey?
Did Lana live with Naomi at any point in time?
Did Lana live in trailer parks illegally in New Jersey?
    The sibling thing?
    Who was Ron?
    Was Ron also a photographer?
How did Naomi and Lana/Chuck meet?
How did Nicole and Lana/Chuck meet?
What made Nicole want to live with them?
Is the Jersey City move Lana-related?
Or, did Lana happen to meet Naomi in Jersey City?
Did Chuck or Naomi go to Britain with Lana and Nicole?
Were the moves crucial to the relationship between Lana and Naomi?
Who else lived with Lana and Chuck?
What were the exact periods of coexisting living?
Why did they officially move out in November 2016?
Did they all have a lesbian foursome and Naomi/Nicole photograph an intimate moment of “Alpha Females?

tl;dr Lana got her inspiration from cars from her ex-mechanic boyfriend. She lived with Chuck in New York from June 2010-November 2016. Naomi may have lived in Jersey City to keep close contact with Lana and Chuck and she did ultimately decide to live a few blocks from them during May 2012-August 2012. In October 2016 she moved in with them, but they moved out in November 2016.

Let’s move on from the questions to some people. I’ve kinda already covered her time in New York and New Jersey.

    Where do I start?

    Locations I guess.

These photos and alike were taken in Charlie’s home. The one with the hose too. It’s in Hollywood.

    edit: blurred image

Would like to post the address. That goes for most of these I think. He no longer lives there if mods wanted to pm me.

Um.. Lana may have cheated on Barrie with Fran. I’ll explain.

Fran had a New York apartment from October 2012 - August 2013. He then moved to Beverly Hills from August 2015 - January 2016.

Ok, call me a weirdo but I know EXACTLY where this photo was taken.

Had to blur the photo so it couldn’t be searched, but I promise you they are the same…

Now tell me how the hell was she over this man’s house in October 2012 - August 2013 when she was dating Barrie?

Blah, the dates are probably just wrong. Or maybe there’s something deeper…

After the November 2016 move they apparently went to a house in East L.A that Lana spoke about in her Glamour interview. It’s really freaking big, I guess they share it as a family or something I’m not sure. Only Chuck is the documented owner. Wth. again image blurred so y’all don’t image search it

Ok. I think that’s all I can cherry-pick. Feel free to ask me questions. I will be posting some more info tomorrow or in some days.. just needed to get this old stuff out. it will be about some boyfriends probably. and maybe some Indian stuff

Well, here goes nothing   I've had this theory for years..

So I have gathered similiar lyrics but did consider the "drive by sunday night" reference and the timing is also a bit earlier (making it line up with the release of Sirens). The difference though is that this crime took place in South LA. (We all know she travelled through the USA as mentioned in several songs and videos, I believe this was during her gap year. Tropico proves the LA theory as well)

The double homocide took place on April 6th 2004 (Sunday to Monday night"drive by sunday night" - For K)
at 2AM ("I was shot at 2AM" - Jump -> as in that's when Lana died, too, because she lost him forever because of the crime)
over a drug dispute (I'm not gonna quote obvious themes in her music )
Lana was 18 at the time (gap year)

Two men shot a man and three women (witnesses) in the Nickerson Gardens housing project, two of the women survived and one of them was brave enough to testify (She died September the same year, and her funeral took place in St. Paul's Baptist Chruch ("Swinging in and out of Old Paul's" - Video Games)

Sidenote: This could be a stretch but there's a Willowbrook street and a Willowbrook Park right next to the housing project ("See the willow bowing" - Out With A Bang)

In July 2004 one of the men (K) involved in the shooting was convicted to murder charge (the articles don't say the amount of years but I guess 30 could be it) The jury split about the question of death penalty and the 'phase of the case should be retried'. (Not important but the other man involved had a different trial as he didn't confess)

A piece of information that is missing is when they decided to put him on death row because in 2009 a judge denied to reduce his death sentence that's all I could find.

K was 28/27 in 2004, so he does kinda fall into the older man type. I mean 10 years apart for an 18 year old is a lot imo.

Now, his name is the most mind-blowing piece of information: Kai Harris (as in fucking K, Kai, KAY..)

    ITS JUST A THEORY THOUGH

PS: He's a lightskin black man ("golden skin" - several songs) with long dark hair (again) and a slender, muscular figure.

Okay so now we know this is about Rob, whom she met when she was 19 (2005ish), living in Jersey, had a big impact on her and passed away.

Rob was a friend of Mikey Martin's who she was rumored to date as well. Did she date both of them?
"i am sleeping with your best friends" teas (Get Drunk recorded in 2007).

Also Mikey's from SoCal, so if Rob is too..."it only takes 2 hours to Nevada"

More interesting notes, I found references to Mountain Dew and the movie "Drugstore Cowboy" on his page.

He was also bouncing around a bit between Santa Monica & New York... "back to Santa Monica, New York to LA"

Before I start this, I wish my condolences to Rob and his family and friends and mean no disrespect.

So when I started looking last night, I assumed he passed away around 2007-2009,
but Lana tweeted this on January 1, 2012

His Facebook profile is still up and active, (not going to link, as it's pretty easy to find) no connections between him and Lana/Lizzy on there.
Plenty of Mikey Martin on his profile though.
I could not find his former myspace profile, if he had one.

From there it was pretty easy to find a past connection between Rob and Mikey,
posted on December 11, 2006 on RecoveryRoad.org, recovered using wayback.

Rob was a New York native, battled with drug addiction for a long time, became friends with Mikey at Road Recovery and joined his band as a production manager.

Quoted from the site in 2007 "ROAD RECOVERY is comprised of entertainment industry professionals whose lives have been touched by addiction and other adversities and now wish to make a positive impact on the lives of others."

I heavily believe Lizzy was involved in this organization, although I found nothing online as evidence.
But per her interview for Electronic Beats in 2013

and interview with Vogue in 2012

Recovery Road is probably how she met Mikey and Rob.
    In another interview, she reveals

I think Rob is the person she's talking about here. Looking at his FB profile, it seemed he was still struggling with his addiction and re-entered rehab 2011. This leads me to believe Rob is subject to a lot of her songs, I think Dark Paradise and Heroin are 100% about him, as he is now the only confirmed friend/boyfriend she knew who died of drug overdose. It could also explain her somewhat strange behavior during the 2011-2012 era, she had just lost a friend, maybe an ex-boyfriend and was also gaining popularity and criticism.

Obviously all speculation, I'm wary to say she dated Rob as she called him a friend, but we are pretty sure she dated Mikey.

Sorry this was kind of all over the place, but what does everybody think?
