I've started to get into editing recently and I just wanted to share!
My first edit is what I hope Lana's aesthetic for LDR6 is like. Very surf-rock, tropical inspired. Hope you like it!

Thank you so much! That means a lot
And lmao that’s so true, although it’s definitely more possible than before, what with “into the blue” being a jumping off point for LDR6 and the whole beach soundscaping at the end of Get Free, it may be very true! I hope it is, at least!

I love Lust for Life so much, and I would really like to hear songs that are sonically in the vein of Tomorrow Never Came, Heroin, and Best American Record. I would love a hippie, low key, stripped back but still full sounding record at one point, which is what I actually thought the record would sound like before we knew anything about the sound or visuals of this era.

I really want to see the outfits she wears on tour because I feel like it'll be representative of the next record.

Like, in all the festivals she played at last year she wore white dresses, and that played into the Love MV and probably embodied how the original record was shaping up to be (back when it was called BAR rip) White dresses, and then we get some flower child/lighter vibes in her earlier songs (yail, groupie love, 13b).

And then you have her current fashion of wearing black outfits to her shows. The casual black tshirt/jeans, short hair, short black dress, black shoes - maybe this darkness can relate back to the importance she placed on "out of the black/into the blue" being the last line on LFL.

So if this black outfit trend continues into the tour, we have a concept on our hands ladies and gentlemen - maybe LDR6 will be ultimately sexy and self assured, like an extrapolation of cherry/burning desire/sad girl/gods and monsters/yayo

I hope Lana goes into a direction that's a little more acoustic and organic for LDR6 - songs that are sonically similar to Best American Record and presumably Yosemite, with themes that deal with idealism and changing perspectives, as well as fun little songs about California, the former tying into the "into the blue" line from Get Free, which is a jumping off point for the next record, as stated by Lana. Plus, a title like "Greetings from California" or something with a desert vibe. Early 2016 -Topanga - Malibu blonde Lana was my favourite time, and I would love to see something like that.

Regardless, I know I'll love anything she puts out.

Couldn't agree with this more, I don't think the tracklist could just "coincidentally" end up like this. Lana truly did plan this out well. I love how the first half has more summery and gritty songs with a contemporary production, while the second half has a more stripped back, lowkey feeling that speaks to the lost era of Woodstock. She truly bridges the gap between the past and the present and is appealing to both the younger and older audiences she has. She truly has outdone herself with this record.

As we all know, prior to the 2016 election, Lana never commented to the public on anything political or on any issues bigger than herself. Having Trump as president probably urged her to take on this role of an artist to be a reflection of the sign of the times. I am a firm believer in pop culture being a medium from which we can learn so much about things like politics or even things like fashion, sexuality, religion, etc. Lana probably is aware of this, and being the true artist that she is, she may feel passionate about using music as a forum to communicate and draw ideas. The V Mag interview with Stevie Nicks implies this role as an artist that she takes on.
