i kinda laugh now when the thought originally was that the imagery was gonna be super stripped down and catering to a more 'indie' 'male audience' simply because of that mariner's cover photo and some of the awkward selfies. more than anything i'd say she's kept her brand visually with some progression, however the most progression is in the sound. credit where it's due, we do still have so much of the old lana in there it's just more grown up even than honeymoon was

still would've loved to have heard it without the snippets, not gonna lie

Did anyone notice the scenes in the video where she’s in pigtails and she keeps smiling but her eyes are so glossy as if she’s crying/ is about to cry/ or been crying? Shit like that speaks volumes to me.. is anybody really truly happy in America these days ? especially California or even New York for that matter .. it seems Lana can say she is or pretends all she wants but that’s really not the case. A pure genuine soul stuck in the past is not compatible with today’s world.. you can hear it in this album so raw.. ‘Lust for life’ was concealing her true feelings while speaking out on the worlds current state but it was a forced facade more than anything which is why it didn’t age very well, forced collaborations for clout. In NFR she’s blatantly speaking her mind, the lyrics are a little flat but they are honest and she isn’t holding back.. I mean hell the ALBUM title is called NORMAN FUCKING ROCKWELL.. which is quite risky but she doesn’t give a fuck because that was her choice.. explains the selfie single covers and lack of effort this era and that’s why I love it.

Wait, what's up with the poppies? Her merch is not flower themed at all or am I wrong? I'm a little behind

BEST NEW TRACK Lana Del Rey
    “The Greatest”
The stakes have never been higher. In Lana Del Rey’s latest song “The Greatest,” an entire generation is burned out. The world is getting hotter. Hope is a dwindling resource. We don’t have much time left. Worst of all, the old highs aren’t hitting quite the same. “I want shit to feel just like it used to,” she sings with a quiver as a sad piano motif descends behind her. Lana’s songs have always sounded like lonely missives from the end of the world with a beachside view; the difference is now we’re watching the clock tick down alongside her. “If this is it,” she sings, “I had a ball.”

Like everything we’ve heard from upcoming album Norman Fucking Rockwell!, “The Greatest” is a kaleidoscope of classic-rock radio transmitted through Lana’s hushed, psychedelic lens. The drums roll in slow motion, the guitar solos are fuzzy, the piano is recorded so that you can feel the shag carpet beneath it. Instead of luxuriating in vintage textures, Lana is restless, eulogizing her listless youth while repeatedly incorporating the words “the culture is lit,” as if attempting to dance through the tears. Her new video pairs the ballad with “Fuck It I Love You,” an ode to California and self-destruction. The juxtaposition of the songs seems inevitable; her dreams of escape always lead to the same place.

Like a long, dramatic shot of a drifter leaving the scene, “The Greatest” fades with a list of rhyming epitaphs that build to a stunner of a coda: “L.A.’s in flames, it’s getting hot/Kanye West is blonde and gone/‘Life on Mars’ ain’t just a song,” she sings before snapping back to the current moment: “Oh, the live stream’s almost on.” It’s a playful, graceful way to voice a common feeling of helplessness and overstimulation. And if she sounds more at peace than the rest of us, it’s because she’s been here a while, waiting for us to catch up before it’s too late.

Where can I find HQ pics of the LA coast with the oil rigs? I love the industrial aesthetic of the video and want to add the northern lights for a desktop background.

Is this the sad girl from summertime sadness???

that's so funny to me, like seeing 2012 Lana and then coming back and seeing her now, it's probably a cool experience

yo i'm so glad i'm on lanaboards; this is my first lana album era and the first artist that i've deeply stanned. i've learned so much. i never listened to radio shows or cared about magazine articles or old photos. i hadn't even heard of unreleased tracks. i didn't watch live streams, i was such a novice. the last few years of stanning her have been so life changing. lanaboards has really helped me get new information and it's just an awesome resource, so thanks everyone

Every time my managers write me, ‘Album art?,’ I’m just like, send!” she cackles, pantomiming taking a selfie. “And they just send the middle-finger emoji back to me.”

Youtube glitched, there're views on the video already.. I think, it's interesting to note, if it means anything, how she chose those two tracks to have together for the double video. They aren't side by side on the record tracklist, so I guess, album canon wise, it might not match up, if the tracklist's indicative of some sort of linear narrative.

But. I'm just gonna go w how she chose those two tracks. NFR, being the main concept, about her man being puffed up, but having great moments. Sad girl shit, and piano ballads. Surf undertones.

Maybe if this vid was supposed to have a storyline, she probably was holding out hope that this guy'd really stay with her, and she actually lets loose w her emotions, but it doesn't really work out, and the life that she wished so hard for herself, doesn't turn out to be that, even if she's accomplished much, she can't get the same fulfillment, so she's trying to get back to her roots, all the while, still strangely holding onto some kind of hope, that he'll give her an uncomfortable wake-up call that'll be harder for her, but that she'll still appreciate?

I think I'm better understanding more and more of how Hope's the closer

Okay there was some guy a few pages back who said these leaks were all planned and I called him Alex Jones.

I’d like to apologize to him because now that is the only explanation I can think of that would make even a little bit of sense. There is literally no way that her team could possibly fuck up this much

And what I've learned from these 4 weeks of lurking is that lana's fans think in fact she's a nazi who hates the black and wants to kill the gays and don't do shit for the poor and has NO CREATIVITY AT ALL and her songs are crap, but they can't wait for that HQ leak lol
