As we all know, prior to the 2016 election, Lana never commented to the public on anything political or on any issues bigger than herself. Having Trump as president probably urged her to take on this role of an artist to be a reflection of the sign of the times. I am a firm believer in pop culture being a medium from which we can learn so much about things like politics or even things like fashion, sexuality, religion, etc. Lana probably is aware of this, and being the true artist that she is, she may feel passionate about using music as a forum to communicate and draw ideas. The V Mag interview with Stevie Nicks implies this role as an artist that she takes on.

I have some controversial opinions but imma keep them to myself because I don't want to get shredded to pieces.

I like her way of thinking, and i know that she has good intentions but deleting your insta pics isn't really going to change anything. It just seems pointless, having said that, i think it's very admirable for someone of her status to at least be trying to make a difference and educate her following. So i do respect what she's doing an awful lot, even though i don't think it's very called for, i hope it can make a difference

Also I feel like being in the front row, other fans would totally ruin the show for me. I don't need people singing the lyrics LOUDER than Lana in my ear. Pushing me, shoving me, elbowing me, trying to get to the barricade. SO many fights broke out last time and the entire crowd was just moving like a sea of people.. no thanks..
 
And to think just 5 years ago I saw Lana perform in a room with no one else there except for her band and a video camera.. ughhh take me the fuck back

Decided I'm gonna try to enjoy the show from a balcony spot. I don't want to deal with savage fans when all Lana wants to do is share her music with us especially in this tumultuous time we live in.

Why is everyone acting like speaking out is Lana being "dramatic" or hysterical? If anything, it's you guys being dramatic. Yikes 

The thing is: Lana knows she has power. She has 10 million followers on instagram, she has #1 albums, etc.
 
Shes just doing what she thinks is right, which is speaking out. Thank God shes not staying silent like taylor swift or selena gonez on issues. Im grateful lana is humble and sees the importance in speaking out.
America marketed itself to other countries that way hence "American Dream" or when when there would be billboards of the nuclear family above soup kitchens in the Depression. America wants other countries to believe its the best but trump keeps showing that thats not the case

I sympathize with Lana's anxiety about current happening considering we have an angry, mentally compromised cheetoh in the office and there isn't much we all can do about his awful decisions. I know deleting all her posts won't impeach him or anything but understand that she wants to emphasize a certain message and doesn't want other things to interfere with that, not personally how I'd handle the situation but hey.
 
The least we can do is show her we understand the message she's trying to convey

trump has decided to end DACA which lets thousands upon thousands of undocumented immigrants to be able to go to college and make a life for themselves. if thats not something "ground breaking" then idk what it. Thousands of kids who've grown up here and just want to go to college and have great lives were just told they won't be able to. Parents who escaped their dangerous countries to have their kids become doctors or lawyers were just told that they've been hiding in the shadows for nothing. thousands of people are mourning
 
if people are so anti illegal immigration, then make immigration easier
 
Trump has just shown that America isn't the freedom land where everyone is welcome to make a fresh start on life

Well, at least I am happy that she seem to care about her surroundings. Of course she's worried. The US has its worst president ever (since he has no experience at all and do whatever he pleases) and a lot of places in the world are in chaos. She hasn't experienced this before (and obviously neither have I) and tries to remind young people that it doesn't have to get too bad.

Laughing at the fact that y'all are soo concerned with Lana deleting her posts and calling her crazy and dramatic when her fanbase & Lanaboards are both full of overly medicated depressed twinks that define the word dramatic.
