I love how The Greatest is the greatest "shut down anything" song. Bar closing? Greatest. End of a relationship? Greatest. World ending? The Greatest

Does anyone else hear cats meowing in the beginning of the greatest? I hear them in Carmen too.

I agree. 'Cinnamon' especially sounds thick and muffled, as if it were recorded with a pillow over the mic, unlike, say, TG. I like the arrangement on 'Cinnamon,' but the engineering is awful. Compare it to ‘Hope.’

I would have liked it more without the backing vovals and loud instrumentation. I think if she did it more acoustic/ acapella it would have sounded better. At least with Doin' Time bc we have already  live performances with backing vocals. Or someone should have done a better job with the mixing.

If he has an old soul, then, not necessarily age-wise, it would tie those tracks together a little with the old music references, making them about Barrie, possibly? Idk but I didn’t even realize she was with Barrie for that long wow

The BBC Live Lounge was good but I hate that the background vocals / playback was too loud.

I hear what you're saying but actually I don't listen to an album because it has a great metascore or a grammy nomination - but because it emotionally touches me. And with NFR, that's not the case (or at least only with a few songs). I like the album and I like the maturity but I'd prefer a much darker, brooding, less sparse sound. So it's no surprise that the songs I like most on this album are (with the exception of VB) those Jack hasn't that much credit for (California, TNBAR, Bartender). Don't come for me, that's just my opinion but I'd be happy if Lana will work with different people on her next album. But of course we can't do anything about it, Lana will do whatever she wants to do anyway.

Let's save the breakdowns for in about 12 months. Before that it's really your own fault not Lana's.

I wonder if California was an exception or if there are other amazing tracks sleeping somewhere in her hard drive... If she says they were messy, imagine the level of messiness... She did cowrite a song for Miles'album, two years ago (Loaded)... That would be so awesome that one track or two of WHF was from that project / period.

She ignored all the questions on it... but I like it, honestly. We just got NFR, I don't trust the in 12-13 month release honestly, plus she said she wanted a surprise release. It would make sense for her not to mention almost anything else before the release.
