It’s only been a month since that was posted lol it’s coming I’m sure. If not that or HIAB, we’ll get some kind of new music soon. I’m sure that’s why she’s been silent for so long.
 
Maybe she’s doing that unreleased track album since she used Elvis for that movie. She’s definitely thinking about her unreleased stuff and that one being in that movie shows that

We all know this woman says a lot of things she doesn’t mean but, between UV and HM, it was 15 months. June 2014 to Sept 2015. That was the right time frame, she had herself planned out it seemed. Between HM and LFL, it was 21 months between Sept 2015 and July 2017. That one was delayed if she PLANNED out another one for the same time frame. I remember her having more material for LFL and going back in the studio a few times more for other songs and then she cut some of her favorites off the final cut. I wonder if she worked on anything on the road like when she wrote Coachella... has anyone heard anything about her silence?

whats funny is that people complain about people "appropriating" culture when every culture has done that. egyptians, greeks, romans, ancient europeans, ancient africans, ancient asians, etc. everyone has borrowed something from another culture and gave it a new meaning whether its art, clothes, architecture, symbols, religion, etc.

i'm Latino and personally i find it funny. the Latino culture can be fun and cool to partake in at times. we have people dressing up as cholos and cholas for Halloween or for spirit week at schools. it's not necessarily disrespectful, it's flattering at how much of an influence your own culture can have on people to where they want to partake in it. LANA DEL REY IN ITSELF IS SPANISH, meaning wool of the king. i don't think Lana is being disrespectful or mocking the Spanish culture with that accent or with her stage name, rather she finds the culture appealing and exotic. she wants to take part in it which i don't think is disrespectful unless she stays true to who she really is.

I just don’t understand the concept of getting annoyed that someone is embracing a culture. What’s crazy is in America, there’s so many cultures and so many different cultures in different parts of the country, yet people get offended EVEN IF IT ISNT THEIR CULTURE SOMEONE IS “appropriating”. It’s one thing to try to change a culture and use that as a way to solely make money but it’s another when someone embraces a culture because they artistically find it cool. I think that’s what Lana does, I think she embraces cultures because she has fans of different cultures and she recognizes it. There’s so many people from the UK, South America, the US, Eurasia, etc. She knows this and I think she enjoys traveling the world and experiencing more of the lives of the people in these countries.
 
“Appropriating” is only ever a thing when it’s convenient, I swear. I never hear anyone say anything until it’s convenient for a conversation. That doesn’t go to say it’s not happening, but appropriation of culture =/= embracing a culture

And like I said in a previous post, it’s one thing to do things because you find it cool. Fashion is art. People laughing? Well, that’s their own personal problem. What I don’t understand is when people wear their hair braided and someone gets “offended” or upset because “my ancestors had that hairstyle!!!!” Thats bullshit. If you go to Africa or any country wherever the fuck and ask the people there, they won’t give two flying fucks what you do with your hair. It’s a minute “problem”. People who get upset are the problem. Who gives a fuck what someone does with their hair? Why is hair such a big fucking deal? It just doesn’t make sense and it’s a reach to say certain hairstyles are only found in certain parts of the world because we all have hair. Everyone.
 
What makes me confused is the racial part of it all. Just because she’s white, she’s being pointed at and told she can’t wear her hair like that. Then that point becomes moot when a black woman on a fashion runway wears blonde, straight extensions or dyes their hair blonde (and yes, some black people have naturally blonde hair, it’s very very few and far between.) Yet, white people cant be on a runway with braids. That just doesn’t make sense. I get it, it’s “more appealing because it’s more white”. No. Fuck that. It’s at fault on the designer’s part for dressing up models certain ways. (Literally happened in Empire, i just watched an episode about a situation like this)

Cultural appropriation has some sense but the majority of what people think about it is completely stupid at the end of the day we're meant to be becoming a multicultural society and there are much bigger issues with enforcing human rights than what someone is wearing-people need to get their priorities in order tbh.
