I'm banned from the Target in my town (something that happened when I was a minor) and I just risked getting arrested to check. I'm literally the stupidest adult.

If UV does leak, I will only listen to Florida Kilos because that is really the only song I'm thirsting for (I'm dehydrated, really). I can ~maybe~ wait for the others (but don't hold my word against me if I don't) until the 12/13, I don't know the time difference between the US and Australia, because for me I don't think that would be considered a leak since it's "officially" out that day.

considering she's credited as ldr on every track except old money where she's lizzy grant, i wouldn't rule that out tbh.

ALSO anyone notice the absence of Edward Gallegos's name on the writing credits

I didn't really think of Florida Kilos, but then I heard the snippet and it has been on REPEAT. That kind of sound is right up my alley and I'm super excited to hear it in full.

I literally just said this in a conversation on FB. While I love SOC, West Coast, UV (to a degree,) and what we've heard so far of Brooklyn Baby, I think Lana's getting these tracks out of the way because the other thirteen (including the bonus tracks,) are what's going to really define ULTRAVIOLENCE. Why else have we not heard her favorite track yet?

This album's going to fucking slay me, and if it doesn't slay anyone else in the end, fuck it, I'm still jammin'.

Do I only have to do it on the computer or can I do it from my phone?

    Never mind.

I am disgusted with some of the 'fans' on here. That they feel so superior for loving every single piece of music Lana creates, they sycophantically accpet everything as perfection and abusively dismiss others criticism like trolls. It must be age or intellectual under development.

My opinion on Lanas latest is that so far I am underwhelmed and nothing is matching BTD era. I am a Lana fan, not a Lizzy Grant fan. The styles are very different. This does not make me a hanger on or less of a fan. BTd is my favourite album of the last decade. Perfection. I am withholding judgement until the album is out in full as sometimes music is better as a whole, not heard as 1 track. Fingers crossed.

As for those who don't like it when people have a different opinion; grow up and get over it.

Guys! We're in the home stretch! Less than two weeks to go! Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and calm down. We need to be in tip top shape for when we listen to ~Ultraviolence~ God I'm so excited.

I plan on dressing up in denim and leather, and going on a date with...*ahem,* the Green Giant, in my backyard. A really long one, and I'm not going to listen to any Lana music beforehand the whole day so that I don't have any of the songs stuck in my head while listening.

When I'm done, I'm gonna set up my hookah, get a bottle of wine, set up a bunch of Christmas lights throughout my room, turn off the other lights, and then listen to ULTRAVIOLENCE from start to finish with my headphones, uninterrupted. It's either that, or when I finish the "date," I'm gonna stay outside and listen to ULTRAVIOLENCE while hoop-dancing or dancing with my LED whip. I am also considering listening to it while going on a high-and-wine walk to the beach, and finishing the album there.

I can't recall the last time I ever listened to an album in full without skipping the tracks, so I wanna try with UV.

I've been thinking of doing the same thing except I don't know if it's a definite that someone got me it for my birthday. If it leaks, I'm gonna have to disappear from LB for a little bit because I kinda been planning a ritual for my first listen of UV and it won't be the same. The fact that I even planned out a ritual shows the thirst is serious. They will never understand.

So illiterate that I graduated from a major university with honors in under four years and with a minor in English?
Take a seat, child. You're derailing the thread with your attention-seeking.

Some of you act like you've never listened to music outside of the overproduced, generic pop realm. You also need to realize that your opinions are just that...opinions.

Other opinions awarded Dan a Grammy for his production skills, and many of us find the mixing to be incredibly beautiful.

Lana fans are literally the most over-thinking bunch of people. lol I personally love the sound of Brooklyn Baby, the lyrics are fine. I wasnt expecting every song to be written at the highest level, but I dont think these lyrics are too bad. Maybe this song wasnt meant to be a lyrical song, but more of a just listen to the sound and feel it, type of song. Idk.

I think Lana is doing this because I remember reading somewhere that Lana had to cut down on the songs on Ultraviolence. I think this is Lana's way of giving us all of the songs that she wanted. I mean, Interscope probably doesn't want her to do a 16 song album (or more, if she gives us any more surprises. *crosses fingers*) because I *think* it's typically in contracts how big albums will be, but they probably wouldn't mind letting have exclusive tracks. They know that hardcore fans will buy multiple copies to have every song, if they have the money.

    My boyfriend's in the band
He plays guitar while I sing Lou Reed
I've got feathers in my hair
I get down to Beat poetry

    I'm a Brooklyn baby
    I'm a Brooklyn baby

These are the lyrics that I found from BB. What is wrong with them? If you don't like her themes jump of the Lana train because it can happen that she will never change those themes: desperate love, abusive relationships, death, doomed fate, love for the beat poets etc. I think that these are great themes to sing about, i would rather cringe at some wannabe "social thinkers" in pop/rock music. I don't see Paradise as a lyrical regress from BTD and certainly UV is more of a sonic departure from her previous work than a lyrical one. That said I enjoy the "sonic monster" that UV is gradually revealing and certainly the lyrics helps in creating a mood  and a visual context for the music. If you wanna read some deep shit lyrically you have to do better than pop or rock music. I cringe at people who expect Shakespearean lyrics from a pop act. A Wagner libretto shits on Pink Floyd entire lyrical content, get real, this is pop music and Lana is the ”queen of sadcore”, this is her genre and there are some limitations sonically and lyrically. (btw The Beatles were quite repetitive at the beginning of their career and that didn't stop them to be considered the greatest band in history). Maybe she'll change her perspective for the next albums but UV wasn't the right time for that. The music and the lyrics are just great together (UV will take some shit for the lyrics but I like the mood of the song, it's great live)
