Lust For Life era had her best merch. It looked classy and didn't look too "merch-y" or it didn't look like something which screamed merch. I loved the red sweater, white windbreaker, visor cap and the boat T-shirt. Didn't LFL era had the first original golden coke necklace and the golden gas lighter thingy as well? Some merch pieces of NFR merch looked cool as well but I think that some of the surf shop merch started looking too amateur or "H&M". COTCC merch was meh and other merch ever since were just shit and amateur.

Imagine being grateful for a multimillionaire not trying at all. It’s been over for awhile but yeah Lana will never be LANA again. We’ll never get good vocals again. We’ll never get an album that’s truly good again. We hold on because of nostalgia. The most we have to look forward to is one or two genuinely great songs on new records. Crucify me because I’m right (not you. Just responding bc you quoted me) it’s a hard conversation no one wants to have lmao

Ooooo I did not like this album... all skips except Blue

All of them sounded like Madison Beer rejects

L'amour in particular has an instrumental that's almost identical to Showed Me by Madison  I doubt it was intentional but .... girl

This is exactly why I gatekeep from the you know who types of people
I love seeing more people be into her, but ever since she got popular on certain websites post 2020 some of the newer fans have been the worst people.

I don't like Lana's fandom in social media, especially in the 2020s. I wasn't there in the early 2010s, so I don't know how the fandom was in social media then but just nowadays it's just full of toxicity. Tbh I've noticed some toxicty in the live shows as well and that was in the 2010s as well.

I only love it here, it's like the only safe place I kinda wanna gatekeep...

No mean to be a hater or anything because I actually think 360 slaps in it's own way and I got Club Classics, VD, and B2B on my most replayed songs of this year but this album is just shaping to be another Radical Optimism case where Charli misleads people into thinking this will be a 'club' album. I mean yeah I can see this play in clubs somehowish but the club vibes are barely there and as I've seen others point out with Dua's new album, the psychedelic influences are barely there and if you look away for a split second you'll miss them.

We're just getting glossy, polished, plastic pop with tinges of dance music and hell I love it (360 sounds like XCX World which is very bratty in it's own way) yet this seems more in line of a continuation to the $ellout era. This is definitely not what Charli described intially:

evoking the illegal London rave scene where Charli XCX started performing "when [she] was 14 or 15"

i got around to listening to the full album today and idk as a casual listener i loved it, surprised the general reception has been so underwhelmed but maybe it’s just too european of a vibe

Yea, I was just curious because I finally listened to it for the first time back in 2022. And now I don’t get why taylor didn’t just do a polished up rerecording of the demo.

my friend was really looking forward to the poetry book, but it turns out the colourblindness they have makes the pink and orange look practically the same colour so it’s just a mouth and the black text

(I’ve suggested maybe they can recover the book but I’m not sure they’ll be bothered to do that.)

I feel like the issue with singer-songwriters doing poetry books is that they sometimes forget how much the music can mask some of the faultiness that their actual lyrics have. Without the music behind it, the words need to stand by themselves on their own. I feel like Marina's gonna encounter the same problem based on what I've seen so far.

In all fairness though, showing your poetry to the world is quite emotionally taxing. Poems tend to be the most exposing type of written media imo, so for her to expose nearly 300 poems of hers to the general public is kinda commendable in a way.

honestly some of the hate Marina gets is so uncalled for (though warranted sometimes I will not lie…)

Radical Optimism is my favorite Dua Lipa album. It’s so sweet and relaxing. In love with every single song on it.

I'm so shocked at people comparing this to the likes of Solar Power or L+F, this is her Dawn FM to her After Hours, her Deeper Weel to her Golden Hour. The girls that get it, get it!

Months and months since I lost my account, well I found it...

Well as for Dua Lipa's latest album, I really like it. And it wasn't a win because I didn't like Future Nostalgia which was basic and boring, very 2020, very Covid. She didn't stand out at all and honestly, I didn't follow her.

And then I heard Houdini, and I got closer to her, well I was surprised by the turn and the production with Kevin Parker who I really like.
I told myself that ultimately she was an artist who was involved in her project to make good sounds, and the psychedelic side was interesting because of her vision.

We agree that we are far from the psychedelic side that attracted us here but I recognize that the album is a soothing pop record, personally I needed a record like that.
I mean, it is well produced, soft, summery spring - summer, you want to sip a cold drink in the sun and not think about anything.
It makes me think of the golden days of sunny singles from the 2010s that were played over and over on popular radio, something positive sprinkled with blue and white. The good years, less sad.

Unpopular opinion but I really love the visual which is perfect. The simple but well-layered writing, the simple but beautiful visuals, really beautiful. It’s definitely a summer record that can lift your spirits.
I understand the disappointment of those who expected something more impactful, but deep down I think it's an album that feels good, there's no big pretension, it just says "enjoy the sun, the seasons sunny, warm wind and relax.
