Thanks. I knew it sounded like an anthem, but couldn't really catch the words

Lana has become this lazy 'eh whatever' person in her work. You have artists like Madonna, Jack White and Beyonce who have been around for 20+ years and with every album release, they put effort to the aesthetics, visual and energy in their shows. Visuals is part of the package. Lana denies that but she's been off her rockers in the last few years. She's lying to herself if she thinks people paid attention to Born To Die first because of the music entirely. For most people, they saw what she looked like and her vintage aesthetic and that brought people into her music.
If Lana came out today with the music she's released the past two releases and her boring imagery, I wouldn't have paid her no attention.
Like I said, never seen anyone this lazy in the industry.
If Stevie Nicks who's in her 70's can go on stage with her 6 inch stiletto boots and sing and dance around the stage, then what's up with Lana?

Am I the only one who didn't really love COTCC music video? It's visually stunning but it just felt out of place. I have high hopes for White Dress tho, the promo is so beautiful.

If you haven't listened to the album I wouldn't recommend reading what's in the spoiler tag, because I'm talking about like the biggest surprise there is on the album (at least to me)

Can I just say that I'm really happy she didn't keep up with the random capitalization of the song titles.

Why can't she get rid of her backup dancers? She's not Britney. No one expects her to dance.
Her old performances were pure gold

LMLYLAW really deserved better production, a better chorus and better vocal delivery because some of the lyrics serve.

I mean Jack isn't terrible by any means, but for me his production is very lacklustre in a lots of aspect and not enough fire or complex arrangements

She needs another Dan Auerbach, someone who sparks the fire in her again and capable to say no to her when it's needed

Okay I know this is going to sound joy killing to some but it's time to address it!

I know we're in in the middle of a very dry desert looking for info and releases, but filling the thread with no constructive conversation is spamming and actually annoying for those fans who check out this thread every few days to see some news or anything... and what do they encounter with? Hundreds of off-topic GIFs, lyrics (with nothing added to it), countdowns (okay, countdowns are fun! But why an entire page of the same countdown? ), etc. I don't mean this thread to be absolutely serious, that'd kill the fun, but let's take this thread like a tea party at a country club  Let's have fun but keep the discussion interesting!

    Edit:

Also, by "constructive conversation" I don't mean discussing the only two songs we have 24/7. I know we don't have way too much to talk about. But be a bit more creative and thoughtful, and if you don't have anything to say regarding the album, take it to Random Lana Discussion

I don’t get why people say UV is not a rock record.
Have y’all listened to a single doors album?
rock isn’t just bring me the horizon

It's not like she's singing Carrie Underwood tracks here, she may be exploring a more folk/country sound but she definitely puts her own uniquely Lana spin on all her music. I also wouldn't call this is a recent interest of hers. Lana has been talking about her folk idols and interests for a long time, she's always been working towards this sound. She's like a folk singer who got swooped up into the world of pop music, and I think the balance between the two gives her such a special and specific vibe.

Anyways her best album is coming so I don't think she needs to take any hints

Music appreciation is very subjective, and I get why some people would love 'NFR!', but you definitely echo what I think about his sound/production style. For the life of me I don't think I'll ever be able to fully enjoy that album. I hate the way everything sounds muffled, flat, dry, lack bass, has this tinny audio quality and also how the piano is just very basic. Something about his production feels blank, or just lacks sparks.

I hope we hear a departure from that sound on 'COCC', but judging from the two singles, it's more or less the same. 'LYMLYLAW' sounds straight out of 'NFR!' and while the title track has an interesting melodie and good vocals (at least different from the half-spoken tone which she sang most of the last album with), it still sounds, for a lack of a better word, flat.

The way everyone was raving about the last part of the song, the instrumental outro, as being amazing... Well, duh. That was the only part of the song that we could actually clearly hear full on instruments and that they didn't sound muffled or flat.

my problem with Jack is that sometimes he botches songs the way that they sound underwhelming like with the guitar solo on The greatest, lack of bass on Cinnamon, the entire underwhelming LMLYLAW or the same boring piano chords all over again. He tends to muffles his instrumentals, where it is trurly unnecessary, or just lack of instruments in general, however I’m holding onto hope that COCC won’t flop since it has a lot of guitars and Jack is definitely better with them than he is with piano

PLEASE i would love that it'd be iconic and i totally agree, i feel like people also have the misconception that all country sounds like modern radio country, there's good older vintage-y classic country and folky and such music out there
