The song is kinda dark, so b&w fits well, can't imagine full vibrancy color tbh

so, a lot of people feel like the girls in the water don't have much to do with anything.. but i feel like they're almost like sirens "beautiful creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island." 
 
This makes sense with the lyrics "Live to love you..It's all a game to me anyway"  and even "putting on my music while I'm watching the boys" like she's using the music to lure them in.. and  "i was sent to destroy" idk i jus think the girls make sense

Also love the tuned headphones and the guitar thing with flowers. Can we at least be happy we got a decent music video? Y'all are so critical all the time give it a rest

I really really love it. It's one of Lana's strongest and most memorable videos since Tropico.
 
The way she used color was very interesting.The B&W scenes empazied the gorgeous colours in siren-esque cult underwater scenes so much.
 
There is not alot of plot but Lana's perfection and her playful nature throughout the video makes up for it in spades. It's really refreshing and reminds me of her Lizzy Grant days. In fact the video feels like a highly produced version of some of aka videos especially Brite Lites...
 
I have no grudge against the video tbh but if I were to nitpick I'd say the pink flamingo scene went on to long. She could've added some of those tacky pink flamingo statues in the scenes were she was in the sun lounge.
 
All in all tho a great video tbh

To be honest, I've been so used to this idea that I don't even know which esoteric movements proclaim it. The only movement I recall actively using Tarot Cards to change their future are people practicing Chaos Magick.

This reminds me that some esoteric movements consider that the past, the present and the future are parallel and that in fact many different versions of the past, the present and the future co-exist. It is very popular among some Tarot users who think that with the help of Tarot cards they can not only predict the future but actually choose the path for the "future" that they desire. Considering some of her aesthetics are heavily influenced by/hint towards Tarot Cards such as the High Priestess it is not very surprising.

she's definitely spiritual & maybe culturally catholic, but i don't think she's like this religious conservative or anything. at all.

Lana has never and likely never will top Off to the Races' lyrics or production

This sounds like a suicide song. i can't stop interpreting it that way 

I've always assumed from some of her past quotes and a lot of her lyrics that she believes in God, but the lectures she's been promoting on the Honeymoon hotline have strong atheist undertones. The book A Universe from Nothing and the lecture by Lawrence Krauss are basically all about how the universe was naturally able to create itself out of nothing, and that no divine power or god was needed for it. He talks about religion and the flawed thinking behind a higher power in his lecture and he's also an atheist activist. I just thought it was interesting that Lana would recommend these things to her fans, because I've always seen her as a believer. Like even though she could just be interested in the science of it, the reason behind the research has a political bent to it and the lectures themselves don't shy away from criticizing the idea of a god.

I thought Art Deco was in Azealia's favor though "shining like a medal" "the queen of the downton scene" "you're not mean" etc. like it's a huge compliment wtf

BTD will always be my favourite album. In terms of production, it's my favourite. It's also my favourite because it was the album that truly started my love and appreciation for Lana and her art. 
 
In terms of production, my second favourite would be Paradise and THEN Honeymoon. It's not that i don't like Ultraviolence, I do! But the production in HM captivates me on a whole other level

Q: Your third album Honeymoon comes out today, you have revealed the records drop by drop these last few months. We thought everything was under control but 2 days before, the album leaked on the internet. What happened?
 
A: Well it only got leaked in the last eight days, right? That's pretty good! I know the Weekend's album leaked like 2 and a half weeks before. And oh uh it's impossible, you know it happens. Finale goes to the factory so it's manufactured 3 months before. So usually someone takes it.
 
Q: And how do you live it as an artist?
A: If it's a week away, I don't mind. But if it was like 3 months or 6 months I would like wanna die, it's terrible. Because, everybody consumes things so quickly so if they will hear it 6 months before it's out they won't buy it.
 
Q : And it also imposes the concern about control, Lana Del Rey, it's impossible to control everything nowadays. Are you into controlling (stuff)?
A : I, yeah kind of but nothing ever worked. It doesn't matter if I try really hard or if I surrender. It's the chaos ... ridiculous.
