Are you really asking if Lana should do something that only teaches straight boys to treat women like shit?

It would be cool to hear something that sounds like Freak and/or Salvatore and I would be pleased to hear something like Ultraviolence (that old rock, 70's style).
She could do some references to the beat generation too, actually i'm reading On The Road and i'm loving it. I have plans on readin Owl from Ginsberg and other Kerouac books. After readin OTR (it's the first beat book i'm ever reading) I will watch the film.

Something moody and dark, but maybe this time around she can incorporate folk, or like, "sad girl country" if that makes sense. Binging out her inner lil ol' cowgirl. Think the beginning of Wait for Life where it sounds like the introduction to a western flic or something.

i'm all for alt rock-lana! gimme those emotive power vocals & sexy, wailing guitars. i love when she belts it out. something dramatic and grungy, less restrained. i love angry lana.

i also am dying for more upbeat piano-pop lana, a la "breaking my heart." anything upbeat at this point would be a relief.

or...something with eclectic, descriptive lyrics and lush atmospheres. it doesn't have to be autobiographical. lana has a fantastic imagination & i want to hear all about her daydreams and visions. less romance.

hell, give me anything like "wayamaya" & i'd die--something surf rock inspired. "is it wrong?" could also go under this.

the amazing thing about lana, the reason we're even having this discussion, is that she could do any of what we have suggested if she wants to. i'm excited for what's to come because we really have no idea.

i'd love to see her do something more sexual and intimate, with minimalistic put progressive beats, something like bjork's vespertine

or something heavy, extreme and angry. i want noir(song) like lyrics and angry singing yass

get her outta pop. i want spooky orchestral grunge with trip hop beats and complex lyrics about how surreal life is

I don't understand why Lana can't just announce something, give it a date, and release it. Why does she have to do the whole thing where she puts up teasers for an announcement, then announces something as coming soon without giving it a date and then promptly disappears? My anticipation is waning with every day of not knowing what is actually going on: the exact same thing happened with Honeymoon (which was announced in January), LiB, the MTWBT video, etc. Sometimes it's not good to announce things so early if you can't release it reasonably soon.

not much if you just reuse old scrapped footage

Shades of Cool was brilliant. The symbolism in that music video is incredible and emotional. It's her last great video in my opinion.

i can imagine the meltdown if the freak vid only consists of:

    (1)Lana lip-syncing lyrics
    (2)Random footage of underwater girls
    (3)Lana drinking the koolaid
(4)Random Slo-Mo scenes of her making out with FJM

no plot lines, no climax, no body is hurt or killed off

I'm really expecting pleasantly bombastic surprise that is all purple and violet video (with occasional sneaks of pink cosmic syrup), because those are, beside black, the colors if mystery, magic, occult, sorcery, witches, sacred initiations,  secret knowledge and, after all, freaks, outcasts and misfits, and her velvet, narcotic, oriental and hypnotic vocal meanders of the song would perfectly fit that unique hue from the solar spectrum.  Also, violet equals imagination, spirituality (cult leader) and higher levels of consciousness (altered states induced by intoxication with opiates in ceremonial ritual). And I hope that all those human fairies will dance around her sensually like in the teaser from thousand years ago, treating us with gorgeous, hallucinant and transcendental experience. Can't wait, my eyes are burning and palms are itching!
Lana, don't snuff the conflagration of coloristic extravaganza this time again! We want vivid mirage, not black and white funeral (at least moi). The only time grey tones actually functioned well was Blue Jeans, with its silvery flashes, but they were used to accentuate vintage melancholic nostalgia; this is sexy, experimental futureretro that screams and begs for lollipop rainbow.

I think that despite Lana's enigmatic energy and her inclination to remain secluded and isolated most of her days, she still finds a way to connect deeply with the souls of those who listen to her music. I feel like it is this fact that fuels the obsessive, stalker mentality that some of the fans have developed over time; she's simultaneously mysterious and godly yet a humble human, somehow all at once. I'm sure of most of you would agree that we are all intrigued by the mystique of Lana and want to delve further into her mindset and her world; I think that some people (namely the lunatic Russian girls, the garage camper & the thieves of her car) just take their fixation with Lana's world to the extreme.

As much as I love Lana and want to get to know practically everything about her, I could never imagine myself intruding on her private property to do so. When your intense curiosity regarding a celebrity leads you to break into their home, you know there is a problem.

These people are alike all of us in the sense that their natural compulsion to be drawn into Lana's world is the same as ours. They definitely stand outside of the majority of Lana's fans, though, because there is something very wrong within their minds. I'm sure all of these people are battling some difficult things, from what I speculate, they have mental illnesses that are controlling their minds to a point of madness. Still, what they have done is almost unforgivable. Although I am sure most of us here on the forum possess an equally obsessive disposition towards Lana, I would like to think we are morally superior and more respectful, as none of us have been breaking into an innocent person's home, or stealing private property.

EDIT: At least I HOPE y'all haven't been robbing banks and smashing windows. I suppose you never know for sure who's behind the screen

It does seem like she does. I'm not sure what it is. I know that for me, one of the reasons I find her more interesting than other pop stars is her mysterious aura, even though she insists she's only private and not mysterious. I feel like a lot of these stalkers are desperate to get into her head and figure her out for the same reason. Then I guess that there are others who feel like they have some special soul connection with her because they relate to her songs.

tbh, I think in part this has a lot to do with the leaks -- which started out just as song leaks, right... but then, we started getting old "candids", facebook posts, yearbook photos, and whatever else.

a lot of people clearly feel entitled to her private life, having partaken of so much of it already. it's hardly a healthy disposition to have, but it is what it is.
