No one said they were raking in the money we're just saying she's not "not from money"

Okay but we don't know the exact details behind her hostility towards her mother. I know plenty of people who shade their toxic mothers online, it's nothing new. Her mother could have been the most toxic influence in her life, we just don't know. It's like people forget mothers can be toxic yet would probably praise Lana if she was bad mouthing a deadbeat father.

Because people know what jobs her parents have had, the house she grew up in, the fact she went to boarding school etc. The Grants weren't the richest people ever but they were definitely affluent and had connections. Not as many or as much as some of the people she knows, like she's not a trust fund baby who would have been able to never ever work. But she's not not from money.

Seriously? Her dad is a "self-made entrepreneur" after investing in web domains or some shit like that, it's not hard to find this information out. Sure, Lana's been through a lot of things, but having absolutely no money to fall back on is not one of them and there's no need to lie about it either.

Sorry, I tried to make a joke of the matter, but I understand what you mean and I agree. I sincerely apologize if my short message came off like I just come on here to spew hate on Lana, or imply that this is what other people come on here to do as well, because that was not my intention. In hindsight, it was a bit tone deaf.

I guess I just tried to imply that people on this community have, for a lack of better wording, a love/hate relationship with Lana and whilst they love her to death they are sometimes also very critical of her choices both personally and professionally. We all feel very, veeery, passionately about her. Also, it probably explains why there is a "Biggest Lana hater" category at the Lipsters.

    No hard feelings. xx

On a lighter note, I can't believe that I've reached my 1000th post. I finally have my three dots!

This reads as disillusionment with her interest in metaphysics. Disillusionment with the futility of it.

I think my disappointment lies with the fact that she just seems very narrow minded and doesn't want to listen to those who are genuinely hurt/affected by her statements. Also the way she addressed the whole thing in her follow up comments were nonchalant and just...pissy? I'm still glad she spoke up on her own issues regarding the criticism she has faced but it's like she says one thing I can agree with and then something complete opposite which I can't quite excuse. Ugh Lana you complicated queent

What I’m personally confused about is why she would even take this public. Her point in the original post was badly formulated and people would probably try to correct her even if she hadn’t mentioned those names at the beginning of the text. To me, it seemed that this has been something that’s been on her mind for the last days or week, something that she’s been trying to figure out on her own but failed to come to a conclusion which is why she decided to ask a “question for the culture”. If I were her, I would’ve reached out to friends, maybe my (her) sister since they seem to be close and like my managers to know what they think, so have someone to exchange thoughts with. Just so I wouldn’t have to keep those thoughts to myself and “hide” my feelings. To say, “I want to go back and do this again, too”. Why post it on her public LDR account? It wouldn’t have been great to post it on her private Honeymoon account because fans follow her there too, but she surely must have another private one.I guess she wanted to post it so to kind of start a debate in the music industry, surely to get support from fans, but this backfired greatly in a way I don’t think she predicted at all.

I don’t know, maybe I’m getting old too, but I didn’t try to defend Lana on Twitter at all because I figured that’s not my job really; those are her words and she’s the only one who can defend herself and explain her thoughts. It’s not up to me. And like I said, if I were her, and if I had the power to, I would just say that those women inspired me to also be brave and write songs with sexual, submissive, heartbreaking lyrics and go back to my roots instead of bringing it all to social media.

Exactly. She doesn’t have the capacity to say that mentioning artists or other stuff might have been wrong. Seems like she wants to be right all the time no matter what and she ends up repeating the same things over and over while adding other bullsh*t on her posts.

Him believing he was part of her team because of this, and not just a parasite, was pretty much the low point of 'stan culture'.

People that were on that chat group are not leakers afaik, I know that honeymouns was in one but I'm not sure if it's the same one, she responded to one of the most standard "safe" accounts ever. Lana's contact with honeymouns and Eclipse it's another story and in that point I agree with you.

No, the truth is she posted that publicly for everyone. Fans and non-fans have and will continue to read that post. If she wants this to be read by everyone, she must also accept that not everyone will support her, especially because the post was not well-written. Yes, true fans know she wasn't trying to be problematic (I don't think she was trying to be problematic), but this wasn't a post sent out to fans only, she posted it publicly on instagram, to everyone. And the truth is that it was poorly worded and written with poor choices. Celebrities have always needed to be held more responsible than our average joe, because they are not like the average joe. As a celebrity, she has the responsibility to be better, and the resources to know better. I love Lana, and I will continue to listen to her music, but we also need to understand that we can learn from criticism.

Y'know the sickest part is that Lana probably only talked to them so that they didn't leak any of her newer stuff. Which is...horrifying.

super funny of her btw to write a pointless letter in which she’s mad at criticism she got 7 years ago + one mildly critical article, only to spark equally pointless controversy, after which she tried to clarify herself in the most salty, immature way possible. and now to remind people of it again with a letter that my high school english teacher would rip to shreds.

a rube goldberg machine of dumbassery

it's not that we want an apology. It's that we want her to see that the reasons people were upset were valid, because they were... Even if her post was genuine (which I believe it was), the truth is she namechecked 6 women of color without actually being aware of those specific women's histories of being highly criticized. Their music has been and continues to be criticized.

As someone who has unconditional fan support, she should know that fans are not critics. And thus number 1's do not mean, unconditional acceptance.

Her refusal and doubling down is a slap in the face, because she's refusing to see the merits of these arguments. If she had let it be, she might have avoided needing to apologize but this second post is really really disappointing.

honestly she didnt explain anything in that second post she was just like i‘m not getting dragged enough so let me basically label them all as hysterical trump supporters even tho i was just talking about how i hate to get labelled as hysterical for no clear reason the day before

what makes you think she hasn't lol...who knows what her 1st draft was
  22. evilentity liked a post in a topic by YUNGATA in Instagram Updates
Unironcally does she know you can make an anonymous/private blog to express this kind of stuff? I feel like if she had one and posted these kinda feelings, let it sit for a week then reviewed when in a calmer headspace she could avoid being misunderstood way more.
