If she wants to achieve that sound there's someone she needs to bring back and someone she needs to leave on the way side.

Yeah me and my big mouth.

Chase seems positively angelic compared to the cop.

Feel like shit just want her to date Chase again

Simple, because Chase literally is a nobody. He's a struggling actor. Meanwhile, Mr. White Cop Forever is reality TV "full time popo" instagram influencer

    Back in New York!

Maybe she’ll start acting like one of her other alters again

i know she said NFR was gonna be red hot chilli peppers influenced and have that kind of vibe and obviously it didn't really pan out that way except for a few songs, but i'd looooove to hear that really come to fruition on WHF   i love the idea of songs that can blend the intensity of burning hot, sexy, summertime tracks like Freak and Burning Desire with the psychedelic, lackadaisical vibes of tracks like Venice Bitch and maybe FIILY. a few lil cute folksy guitar songs would be cute too, maybe some desert rock vibes like we had on UV (i'm dreaming of more songs like West Coast  ) and maybe even a cover of Californiacation or Under The Bridge    a girl can dream

Lana should work with Rick Rubin again, I mean he's an iconic producer and produced one of her best songs, Ride.

Find it unusual all the different producers and musicians she worked with years ago whereas on her past few records she's worked with one or two people

Honeymoon has legit the best production of all her albums. I don't hear any of the followings on Honeymoon: white noises, tinny/metallic/cheap piano notes, unequal voice recording AND mastering on any of its song, as well as flat and dry instrumentation. Which are all basically the very definition of the production of NFR. Honeymoon is literally her most spotless album production wise, near studio perfect sound.

Aren't we over these critics though? Like you know damn well that if Lana were to release Ultraviolence and Honeymoon today it would get critical acclaim, by the same critics I might add. Born To Die is the most innovative and influential pop album of the 2010s and critics paid it dust, it's literally still charting to this day. I stopped giving a crap about critics when Lana got like 5/10 for BTD by Pitchfork and called it a "fake orgasm" or something, and now they try and convince us that "Oh look at Lana Del Rey she finally released a great album, let's give her 9.4 to make us look like we know what we're talking about", give me a break, Jared.

Edit: Another thing about Born To Die, if Lana hadn't released that album, there would be no Halsey, Lorde, Melanie Martinez, Troye Sivan and even Billie Eillish.

Let's just hope you're right about that.

There's no arguing there though, Honeymoon, from a production point of view, is her best album! It has the most lush, refined and cinematic sound of all her albums. I can't believe this masterpiece turns four years old tomorrow!

I SO agree with you on this. I do like NFR a lot but you can totally see how biased the critics reviews are. I mentioned this before about that Rantano YouTuber that everyone seemed to be over the moon about when he gave NFR a high score whereas he had been shitting on Lana’s work for ages because of her image and I will never stop believing that a big part of the truth is that this is a relatively non-controversy record where Lana has settled in an image that mostly everyone can be comfortable with.

This kind of thinking is so dumb. NFR is a great album. Yes. But it is in no way better than HM, UV, BTD. And if you want to come with "BuT ThE CrItIcS"!!!!!!
Well guess what, critics are biased as fuck and echo each other in a big way, it's more about the public perception of the artist than the music itself. If they actually evaluated the music itself, BTD would not have received all the criticism it did. But they dragged her for "being inauthentic and having fake lips". Because that is what many inept critics focus on. Now as time passed and Lana proved herself by continuing to not make commercial music and being relatively non-controversial, the critics are actually open to praising her because she is seen as an artist, rather than a corporate money making machine. But it is not primarily about the music. It's about their opinon of her public image. Beyonce is another great example of this. You think anyone would care about Lemonade? No, but because it was released by her, suddenly it's this god-like work in the critics eyes.

Sorry to bother anyone with that. I'm still a fan, like the rest of you guys. It just happened that this record just doesn't do or bring out much out of me... Don't mean to sound petty or pretentious, I'm just a fan and an audiophile. I just feel very passionately about Lana and it just happened that I haven't really been as into her albums in their entirety after Honeymoon. I just happen to think that Lana has released more interesting records in the past, lyrically, melodically and also from a production standpoint. That's it. Not trying to push my opinions as facts, I'm fully aware they are just that: opinions.

I still think that NFR! was a great release this year, believe it or not there are actually songs on this record that I love. I'm glad she finally got a well deserved round of applause for her work, I just wished she got it sooner and for other record/s, that were also deserving of this level of praise, again, in my opinion even more so.

I understand that what I say might sound harsh, but I'm just a passionate fan, there are things I appreciate and others not so much. Also, I guess after being Lana for seven years now and after listening to five drastically different albums from her (and an EP) as well as countless other albums from her contemporaries and albums that were released way before. I get to know more about what I like and what I don't.

I'm still a fan, that will never change.

    Peace!

    Thank you so much luv!
It's hard being a fan in such a dedicated fanbase, I honestly appreciate everyone's output even if I don't agree with what's being said. I love to debate and I will never tell anyone to shut up. Glad to be apart of this community even if I feel a little alone standing in my convictions/opinions sometimes.

Born To Die 7.5/10 Legendary, game changing, most influential pop album of the 2010s!

Ultraviolence 8.5/10 Impressive sophomore album, intense, beautifully crafted and intricate melodies. A raw rock-ish masterpiece!

Honeymoon 9/10 Her most elaborate, lush, etheral and exquisite album released thus far. Literally a jewel in her discography, her most cohesive too.

Lust for Life 4/10 I won't say much about this one, other than I gave a point for each songs that I actually like.

Normal Fucking Rockwell! 6.5/10 Probably the one that feels more "organic", there are some of her best songs on it, but overall lacks a little bit of the attention to details and the cohesiveness (?) that her first three records have. Simply not a fan of most of the production and mastering either.
