It actually has many melodies but u guys don’t get it 

I still don’t get why she sampled half her own song as the closer for a couple albums later, did she ever talk about it? It’s a great song but it begs the question of what and why

her radiohead era is coming hopefully

they sound finished and I just love her sad songs it makes the album cohesive  I would die for this album

Excited! She keeps improving as a songwriter and lyricist, so I'm excited to see where she goes next. The only thing I do hope for is that Taco Truck x VB is a one-off moment for a while. Being self referential is fun, and there's nothing wrong with sampling instrumentation from previous songs, but the extent to which she did it with Taco Truck will get old very quickly to me. Venice Bitch was still super fresh to me, it didn't even need to make an appearance on Ocean Blvd imo.

All I’m asking for on this record is something like Shades Of Cool, not even like a guitar heavy song but something with a really explosive loud bridge with gorgeous mumbling beneath it, like it is a need 
 
Like if it was super jazzy with lots of different brass instruments

What I really want is for the production to not sound so compressed

Well we know The Grants, DYKTTATUOB, Let The Light In, Peppers, and Taco Truck were (probably) the first ones written, because they were all done with Mike. After that, Lana and Jack (probably) started working together and that's where the other ones came. Candy Necklace and Margaret were two of the final ones written.
 
I honestly have no idea what my expectations for LDRX are. I don't expect she'll venture too far off from her current sound, but some of the songs on Tunnel really shocked me production wise. She made comments that she was happy and excited to see what she wrote next so I'm hoping we get some more light/fun songs. I do hope she uses the production of her recent live shows for this album.

not sure how unpopular this is as i havent read thru the thread yet, but honestly? i don't need any new music for a while! i'm SO satisfied with Ocean Blvd that i'd happily just let that record sit with me for a little while longer and really deepen my relationship with it. i really loved Blue Banisters and i did like Chemtrails, but with both of those records i was ready for new music pretty much straight away - this time around though? i could just happily enjoy Ocean Blvd a while longer before i got excited over any new stuff. this record feels so era-defining for my life and i don't feel ready to move on or start speculating about what's next. i just really, really, really love it. it's like a haze of seafoam clouds and supernovas that i just wanna live in forever. plus from a fan perspective i wouldn't say no to a music video or two, as well as some more professionally recorded live performances!
 
i know that pre-pre-release isn't the same as pre-release, but even so: i'm not craving the pre-pre-release this time! that's how i know lana did something REALLY special with Ocean Blvd

Yes I would love to see her explore a more synth-heavy sound 

I think with OB she laid it all out there, in a very raw, and at times, rough way (automatic songwriting, she called it?). I think in this record, she’ll take those deeply confessional, “stream-of-consciousness” moments, and refine them a bit more than on OB. I obviously haven’t a clue, but if I had to guess (and wishfully think) I think the next album will be something between “Fingertips” and “Heroin”, where she tightens up those raw lyrics and long streams of thoughts, and creates these really intricate narratives, but with more traditional songwriting structures and elements (sort of like she did on Grandfather, perhaps?). 

the album is gonna start with an intro that samples 'i go back to alabama, take a look at my life' which then transitions into a modern aka with an edge where rick nowels and dan heath gives us distorted string and orchestral arrangements 

the album could be 1/3 like first half of A&W, 1/3 like second half of A&W and 1/3 like whole A&W 

I need a few songs that are like the first half of A&W  

yessssss a nice dark winter album. (that’s if it comes out this year)
