Listening to album singles now and my god the instrumental to Joanna is absolutely STUNNING. Lamp Lady still sounds cool as heck. Darkest Hour too. ok I’m pretty stoked to hear the whole thing now.

Can’t wait for her post tonight reminiscing about the one time her and her girlies went to hillsong church but during the reading of the scripture she spilled a little bit of her chacha matcha on a hymnal and her and her friends couldn’t stop giggling and Chris Pratt shot her a dirty look but after the service they laughed about it cuz the lord forgives all sinners.

The Witch and The Lighthouse are both STELLAR. I cannot wait. Nicole Kidman is also in the new film. My gay heart!!!

Just discovering this kid. I’m kind of in love with every single from the second album.

I really didn’t care for L + F very much but I wouldn’t say it’s horrendous. I think it’s a little more basic and bland than anything else, where in the past she was always so not. The bits of it I enjoy generally seem to be the things most people hate, though. I like Orange Trees and Superstar, especially the “Acoustic” versions. The lyrics are whatever but the backing vocals in both songs are so lovely and they give them this fairytale vibe that I resonate with. Enjoy your life is kinda dumb but it’s definitely a bop and I’m never mad to hear it. End of the Earth is the one legitimately stellar moment on the record to me.

I listened to their first record quite a bit, and then the second one didn’t do much for me so eventually I just kinda forgot about them. Funny enough, I randomly got to thinking the other day about how they haven’t released music in what feels like forever! I’m interested in hearing the new song.

domandapiano replied to Elle's topic in LanaBoards Updates
Just popping in to say that at least as far as my LB experience is concerned the update has been amazing! So easy for my cryptkeeper ass to post emojis on mobile now! Everything is so much smoother!! -
Her and Kelly Cutrone’s exchange is sending me. That almost makes up for no news.
-
also she kinda breeds it herself when she immediately mentions working on the next album as soon as the last one is out, and then proceeds to mention a specific date that her new record is supposed to be released. I wouldn't feel as rabid about getting new Lana music if she had just kept quiet about the whole thing till it was all official. Honestly, I wouldn't be thinking much about Lana at all right now had she not said these things and MADE me think them. I'd just be patiently waiting for the new Kathleen Edwards, Sufjan Stevens, Fenne Lily, and all other things I'm looking forward to being released.

I just want a sad day video

It’s got so many little heartbreaking lines and it builds so wonderfully to the last verse. For some reason the Peter losing Wendy line is the one gets me and I’m not even that into Peter Pan. The whole album just invokes nostalgic bittersweet feelings so well.

Which album cover did those of you who bought it get? I got this one. I actually like the regular “in the trees” one the best, but wanted to do something else for the physical copy.

Gotta add peace, epiphany, and hoax to the favorite list.

My favs in no order (cept top 2 I guess because they are the ones I always wanna hear immediately) 1/2. Seven (I’m from PA and legit teared up at the line about Pennsylvania. Such a touching song about childhood.) 2/1. Cardigan (such a Lana song, vintage tee, dancing in Levi’s, drunk under a streetlight, such old school lana vibez with the lyrics. It builds so well, too.) The other favs: Mad woman Invisible string The last great American dynasty August Betty I really don’t dislike any song, though. I’ve read that some people don’t think the songs go anywhere and it’s just not true! Each song builds so beautifully and it’s indeed subtle, but I think that makes it so effective. It doesn’t need to go crazy to feel more powerful.

Her best album hands down imo. The only one that grabbed my attention and actually held it.
-
The way hoax sounds like it could be a sufjan stevens song I have to stan
-
Seven wowee she’s stunning
-
Oh my GOD. I’m so here for cardigan. It gives me Lana a little bit. Kind of Born to Die era.
-
I agree. All Is Soft Inside, Forgotten Love, Churchyard, It Happened Quiet, all amazing tracks. I like the new song a lot. I hope it ends up being a bigger project.

Honestly the cover and title are serving me. The fact that Aaron Dessner snd Bon Iver are involved are also piquing my interest. I like 1989 and then didn’t care at all for any of the singles from reputation or lover, but I’ll give this a try. The aesthetic is beautiful.
