Having recently woken up to the narcissistic abuse of my parents, this song really resonates with me. 
 
I may be reaching since this is obviously a hugely personal song but my interpretation is that Lana is subtly discussing the impact of her narcissistic mother's emotional abuse and subsequent abusive relationships.

Narcissists (people with NPD, psychopathy, sociopathy) live in a false, ego driven reality for their entire lives. They are unable to show empathy and sabotage their children's success in life in any way possible in order to maintain control and feed their ego.
 
It is pretty much impossible to treat people with these disorders.
 
Lana's finally broken free and realises that having any hope that she could help her mother change her ways and love her unconditionally would be a dangerous thing as it would lead to more trauma and abuse.

Victims of Narcissistic abuse often end up becoming extremely empathetic with a habit of codependency in future relationships in which they spill all their guts into a relationship without any reciprocation.

As a result of being controlled by a narcissistic mother, Lana's relationships are effected she is often drawn to men who are emotionally abusive since her mothers conditional love was the only love she's ever known.

As a victim, Lana's energy and high vibration has always been taken from her and served to the 'triad'. 
In psychology, the dark triad is a group of three personality traits - Narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy.

Her father showed her unconditional love, but her mother was only concerned with keeping up with her grandiose fantasises.

I used my refunded money to book a holiday, I’m kinda glad it’s cancelled now. I’ve already seen her live before, and I know I would have witnessed a subpar performance anyway. I wish I wasn’t so easily upset, but the manner in which the cancellations were handled has put me off Lana completely

Unironically save your coins. For the cost of a lana ticket you could see like 4-6 local bands play their hearts out because they actually want to be on stage and put on a good show rather than be there out of obligation. Optionally, just do this:

Like I mentioned in my blog post earlier this month, I was thinking of starting a non-Lana related art thread here too. Don't worry, I will come back to drawing Lana one day, but I just feel like drawing other people and things sometimes too. I have many ideas in my head, like most others I guess, and ideas I keep in my mental list of things I'd like to create. I thought this would be a nice place to share them as well. I'm currently working on a short 2-page comic. Since I'm currently unemployed and don't know what I'd like to study next, most of my days are quite unfulfilling and I wanted to make a comic about that feeling and still trying to make something of your day. I've only drawn three panels so far, about to work on the fourth right now, so I won't share it yet, but I hope it can be of help somehow for anyone out there who might feel the same.
 
But I figured I need to show something to start off this thread, so below is a drawing I sketched sometime last year and eventually finished in October for Inktober with a The Legend of Zelda twist. This is Princess Zelda from one of the video games, and while her head isn't perfect if you stare too long at it, I'm still proud of it. If you'd like to see more of my doodles art for Linktober, you can check out my Twitter thread. I won't post them all here because they'd just take up a lot of space. And I don't think so many of you here are that interested tbh.

 
I've also been trying to think of things to use my colored markers for recently! Those of you who has seen my art before knows that I almost exclusively draw in black and white, but I want to use these markers now that I have a few colors to choose from.

Her latest IG post actually makes me want to vomit. Why does she keep splashing him all over her IG? It's just weird - like she's trying to prove something to someone. And who is the other old dude?

I don't get good vibes from him, but really all I want is for her to be happy, and if she's happy with him then my ass behind a computer screen can just dealwithit.gif
