To have "Angels Forever" released as a part of Ultraviolence somehow.

I don't know if I'm reading too into it, but all these painting references in her photos (the filter on her last photo, her new IG icon, etc) I really hope it's a part of a larger visual vision. Can't wait to find out.

    Here for Mulholland Drive

It would be really cool if Lana fully embraced surrealism and created music videos in the style of films like 8 1/2, Belle de jour, Last Year at Marienbad, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks, etc.

Hmm, I really wanted to write something more thoughtful after coming home while tryiing to give this woman a chance. Sadly, as many others have stated she is taking it to Twitter for attention.
And it is a stunt to sell her book. She clearly knows that many feminists (the sex-negative ones and the older generation) are not too keen on Lana and that Lana has a big following of fans and haters.

This is actually not bad for Lana. She makes the experience that a petty woman whose hey-days are long gone now tries to make some cash with her name.
And how very petty she is when she calls the men "older ugly guys", where you would think that a feminst is more interest in things that are not so superficial like "beauty". Let's not even talk about the fact that it is not really a comment that stands for equality of the sexes either. Besides that; I really wanna see the good looking guys she has dated over the years. Really eager to know.

It's funny that she is coming for Lana and not women like Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears or Rihanna, but no, she choses to come for Lana instead.
This is something I have claimed all the way when the feminist attacks started on Lana and I have zero problems repeating it: they fear and disrespect a beautiful woman who is talented enough to make her own music and rises to stardom in a field that is more alternative than pop. This is their worst nightmare.

Well, it ended up being longer than I thought, but I don't have the nerve right now to post more.

Waiting for Azealia Banks to say something on this. I bet Lana herself would have a lot to say but she NEVER goes public about this stuff.

The saddest thing about this is if this happened to someone like Lorde or Taylor Swift everyone one would immediately come to their defence, fan or not, the things Kim Gordon said are that harsh, but Lana is always left to fend for herself. She's like the nerdy kid in high school, everyone sees this stuff happen to her but they just watch. No one thinks to throw her any fucking support.

Also I must be forgetting the song where Lana says no to voting or earning equal pay.
Let's just list all the sexism displayed in this paragraph:
1 Slut-Shaming Lana for her taste in men and lovemaking.
2 Criticising Lana's apt description of a true feminist because Lana said it.
3 Insinuating that Lana shouldn't sing as an individual who has chosen a different lifestyle to her, but instead sing about very certain topics. She's basically saying that Lana Del Rey's experiences are less valuable because she's a female, she should be singing about how independent she is and act like everyone wants her too because anything less is just unheard of in society (Jim Morrison, Kanye West, Eminem, pretty much all male rappers)
4 Advising Lana to kill herself. This isn't sexist so much as simply inhumane and reprehensibly irresponsible.

Does Kim think she's gonna get away with all this?

Lana's whole life nowadays amounts to she's either damned if she does, damned if she doesn't.

It's pretty sad, to say the least. I get people are not into the nihilistic self-destruction elements of Lana's work, to each their own. But at the same time, I kinda detest to the whole "EVERYTHING SHE WRITES ABOUT IS ABOUT THIS" spiel because, well, just as much of her unreleased music says that's not the case. I just personally find it ironic that Lana's every critic's go-to for "We don't mind if anyone else does it, except her" schools of thought. Whether or not it's intentional, I don't know. I just feel like people tend to spot sensitive people who are in the limelight and take advantage of it.

I could name probably more than a handful of artists and an even larger number of songs not from Lana that have romanticized self-destruction just as much, and the criticism barely exists. And if it does, it's like "Wow, they push the envelope but it's fantastic!" I think that fuels my sympathy for Lana a lot more than just because I love her. She doesn't catch a break for doing what many musicians have done/written about. Yes, I'll admit that Lana's interviews, particularly during the UV-era, were really controversial, but it's how she felt. The lot of these criticisms really just seem to revolve around invalidating her feelings and experiences as much as possible.

I heard somewhere that sometimes we need to stop explaining ourselves so much because the people who love and care about us, don't need an explanation; and the people that don't love or care about us, don't want to hear one anyway. It kinda applies here; none of these people care enough about Lana to want an explanation anyway.

I really have no other comment on this. I'm not even Lana and I'm offended by how debasing and brutal this statement is at its core. And that last bit was just absolutely appalling.

I'm not even going to get into that mess of a contradiction in regards to the feminism statement. I'm just not even going to get into this at all. This was just sad; I try to avoid reading scathing bullshit like this because it makes me feel bad for the person it happens to, and I regret reading it in the first place. I'm really feeling for Lana more than I did when she got all that backlash around the BTD era. I just hope that Lana can brush this off if/when she finds out about it, because this is anything but a humane exhibition of compassion and concern. It's intentional vehemence.

    Agreed.

Lana, if you're lurking, make an album with David Lynch!!! He's perfect for you. He combines jazz and dream pop effortlessly. Also, he and Lana both have that "seemingly innocent but sinister under the surface" thing going on in their work.

God, imagine Lana's Floating into the Night

I realised yesterday that Emile and Mark produced Unorthodox Jukebox, yikes.

Anyways, no clue what to expect. It frustrates me to see that BTD is outcharting UV in the US so dramatically despite being out for three years. UV deserved way better, but she has herself to blame, not the actual result. At least the US seems to be here for Lana's music right now, but I am also interested to see if she wants to rebuild her image in Europe after all the cancelled shows, lack of appeareances, being banned from big radio stations, feuding with one of UK's biggest newspapers etc.

I just want to see her enjoying herself and outselling Gaga, that's all.

I also wouldn't mind 2 or 3 radio friendly singles. I need some bops. It wouldn't hurt her.

Hope Sandoval - Not really for a duet, but if they wrote and produced a track and Lana sang I'd probably die.
    Blake - because Flipside
Alex Turner (lead singer of Arctic Monkeys) - his voice is amazing and he's a good writer. If they turned Do I Wanna Know into a sexy duet..

The lyrics in Uv are some of her best. I don't really know what you mean, she can't have started the Paradise EP more than a few months after BTD was released and that record is phenomonal (arguable better than BTD)

Lana's on a creative streak right now, I'm not worried at all tbh

U will be so disappointed because this album probably won't sound anything like your beloved BTD.

It's just the same as last year. People were expecting from Dan to come up with a production style close to Paradise and he didn't. Mark Ronson won't either.

And then the BTD lovers will all be pissed again.

I really hope she was referring to the cinematic sound of the Born to Die album and not the hip-hop/trip-hop/pop production. It was cute (and largely responsible for her huge fan base) but I just don't find that interesting anymore. I think she sounds better with the alt sound, so hopefully she sticks with the whole Orchestral/Grunge/Jazz fusion, minus the drowning reverb.

Also it would be nice to hear something lyrically different, but the Honeymoon title suggests it will have her recurring themes. I wish she would return to the bizarre surreal druggy imagery she had in her earlier demos/songs. There was something so mysterious and otherworldly about them, even though they were about men, and they made no sense, there was still something so captivating about how she strung all those words together and made this world that was so fitting for her.

Anyway, I think that Honeymoon is a lovely title. Has this been included in some of her fake/rumored tracklists? Excited to hear she's doing another jazz cover. The Other Women had potential and the horns were wonderful, but her timing was off and it just didn't sound as great as it could have been. I still listen to it though, but hopefully this one is an improvement.

Oh gosh, I've been to St. Barts twice, it's one of my favorite place on earth. I have a gold medallion with the island engraved and I wear it 24/7. It really is idyllic. I hope they enjoy the place! They communicate a lot physically, with the sense of touch. I need a man like that in my life.

I enjoy their relationship because it always looks like he's caressing her face and fawning over her having weird braids or shoveling food into her mouth and she's just like meh
