Also I know Steven Klein is like “Steven Klein” but I find this photoshoot inferior to past photoshoots from this era. Still pretty though, but nothing impressive. Steven Klein is overrated

I had a job interview earlier and i could literally not get it out of my head so i just kept giggling and the interviewer looked confused, he probably thought i was crazy and i got so embarissed. Just heard the Cherry snippet and was really "This is... really Ultra" and came here and saw the fighting nn
But for me, yeah, it sound a LOT like something that would come from Ultra... the production, her vocals... But I really like it. Love the drums.

I basically consider each album to have been a concept album, theme wise,

Ultraviolence California and achieving what she THOUGHT she wanted, and realizing she was now in a Hell  in the Land of Gods and Monsters
Honeymoon Inner fight between Elizabeth and Lana for control  (and once again- IMHO- there are NO boys in the album, it is all the battle
                               between Elizabeth and Lana (and Honeymoon is the single most underrated album of all time, and is IMHO going to be
                          as the years pass, a rock and roll cult classic
Lust for Life  - after the depths of hell and the inner-battle, what comes after personally victory is REBIRTH
                        "Take off your clothes" in a metaphysical sense, a new philosophy of life being worth living
               juxtaposed at the exact same moment with the unleashing of an actual horrible world event "Trump" turning focus from oneselves
               to the collective (Collective also being the music collective all along wanted, hence the featured artists/duets)
                      And the girl that was born to die, now has a lust for life (juxtaposed with the reality that a major battle is brewing politically and about life itself, and that one needs to open their eyes that were as Kubrick called it- eyes wide shut.
 
                    Hence my love for Coachella  in which in real time, one sees her eyes opening, and she is telling us the moment it came clear and
                    Some among other songs it reminds me of from the protest days in the 60s, is
"Last night I had the strangest dream"   and Marvin Gaye's What's going on  and the Temptations "Ball of confusion"

After reading all of your comments, I thought this song would be a total mess but it's actually really good in my opinion! Definitely not her greatest and I doubt I'll listen to this that often but the production is actually really clean and her vocals sound amazing! I have missed her voice so much and getting new material from her is so exciting for me, even though I'd prefer something else. I think the live version was a bit "harder" whereas the studio version is more subdued and emotional, but I actually really like that change.
 
It's a shame it took so long for the song to be released, though. Even though I enjoy it, I have to admit that my hype for this song died down a lot after two years of waiting for it, so unfortunately, the experience of listening to this song for the first time was a bit anti-climactic seeing as I already knew all of the lyrics and the melodies.
 
I do think she is heading into a more pop direction for the next record of her own, though, going off the producers she's been working with and her presence on this Clean Bandit track. I trust that the songs she's making will be better than this (fingers crossed)
