Crossroads in the cinema was AMAZING. So happy that my first watch was on the big screen surrounded by other Britney fans singing along.

She was so good in the film. How can one person be so beautiful and sweet and talented

She has said she never had a drinking problem and the only drug she liked to take back in 2007 was ADHD medication (she was randomly drug tested a lot back then and every one came back negative). Pretty tame compared to the rest of Hollywood.
She was put into a conservatorship by the vultures around her taking advantage of her suffering from postnatal depression and general life stressors that had been building since her childhood.

Not a single thing she has ever done (then or now) has warranted a conservatorship. They actually tried to say she had dementia too to keep it going in the beginning 💀 There’s a whole rabbit hole you could go down regarding the medical malpractice in the court case. It’s genuinely shocking. Plus, if she was that impaired, why did they let her perform like 100ft in the air over open flames and all the other stuff they made her do in later years? I think it’s important to stress that this conservatorship has NEVER been necessary.

I hope this didn’t come off as aggressive. I just feel very passionate about it so I’ve just thrown a wall of text at u

the chsip was planned at least a year before it went into effect, maybe longer. companies were made prior to the cship to begin extorting her money as soon as she lost legal control of her life. they would have pushed her into it one way or another - it was never about actually helping britney whether or not she had issues with drugs / alcohol…. she’s said multiple times across the years she never liked alcohol though & that she did not drink.

you may not intend for your post to come off any type of way, but it’s kind of grossly worded & disrespectful to her IMO. are you even in the medical or psychiatric field to be so comfortable saying she has a psychiatric illness? this is the narrative her team has worked for years to make everyone believe, so that they can continue to control her finances. very sad.

can you even explain wtf you mean by long term/permanent altered mental state? aside from her public breakdown in 07, she’s handled all the abuse since with grace & an incomparable work ethic to be able to see her babies. her life was controlled & monitored since she was a child. she has never known privacy or respect from her family, management OR the media. people really have no compassion.

I think most of the song is fine, though perhaps 10+ years on we’re reading it in a different context?

the lyrics ‘you stick to your yogurt I’ll stick to my apple pie’ and this part of the chorus: Girls, they never befriend me cause I fall asleep when they speak of all the calories they eat all they say is, "Na-na-na-na-na" come across ‘not like the other girls’, like she’s better than them for not caring about food/calories. marina has admitted in a podcast she did have an eating disorder pre-froot so that’s an added layer, perhaps she was trying to deflect and act like she was above succumbing to the size 0 trend of the 90s & early 00s.

I think she did a better job in supermodel’s legs of getting her point across: Oh, women, men and in-betweens. Why don't you just stop dieting? Go bake, eat cake, go cheer, drink beer, worrying is boring

the ‘calm down’ demo lyrics are more ‘problematic’ but she removed them: I love your Botox bitch / Calm down, I'm not gonna steal your boyfriend. No need to brand him in between the eyes

also the ‘would you quit gossiping about me to hid your insecurities’ whilst having a blog she used to bitch on because she was insecure was such a self read

Yeah that “without zionism I wouldn’t be alive” statement she was sharing around was Bad. At least she’s somewhat backtracking now and actively showing support for Palestine (although probs performative like much of her activism since it started after backlash).

At least the letter separates the idea of Palestinians and Hamas. And also makes note of the many hostages who AREN’T from America.  I just think there are worse  ways to word this. It’s not even that bad of a take. But it is definitely performative..

actually, I hope she keeps quiet about it, I think if she makes a post about it she will end up making things worse.

yeah but you also have to remember that she has thousands of young uneducated fans, she’s doing more harm than good. some find the need to criticise her here as she should be, because she’s not perfect and this was fucking stupid on her behalf. she legit put out a song about hating america a few years ago and now she’s thanking our president for funding the deaths of fucking kids? i do hope her intentions are good but knowing her she can’t keep her mouth shut and will record a 4 minute vlog on why she support israel - and if she does y’all can have an auction on my lana vinyl collection

I know she has good intentions but it aggravates me so much when celebrities take a stance on something they don’t know shit about

To be fair, her lawyer has told us that she can’t comment on it yet because they’re still in the middle of a court battle. It’s a known thing that you shouldn’t comment on a case while it’s still in progress.

Also, until it’s sorted in court, I seriously doubt the publishing house would take the risk of being sued by the other powerful parties involved so it does make sense

It's kind of a lyric which a teenager would write on the internet
"Skinny-dip" in general is a really cringy slang for me, it's something that should've stayed in the 2010s and people should've come up with a better word

Not to mention it contains her worst lyric ever "maybe I'll take my glasses off so I stop painting red flags green". I jumped when I first heard that

For me it’s the “skinny-dip” lyric, I cringe at it so badly idk why, but yeah that one is pretty bad too.

Imo this song had so much potential, it just sounds not well-thought out.

Maybe, I used to think that too at first but I somehow I remember her saying that those lyrics were problematic. Maybe I misremembered lol

you know that’s not what i meant, the deaths on both sides are tragic. but the truth is it’s been worst on the palestinian side for 75 years and those are the facts sorry.

I agree that it’s definitely not black and white, and while I think the letter is poorly worded and doesn’t address the immense suffering Israel has unleashed on Palestinians, I also think Lana added her name to this with good intentions and I’m not going to drag her for it.

Seriously, it made me sigh in disbelief lmaoo. I was 100% sure that ISIS was Daech (that's how we call it in France) but I had to double check if Hamas was also called like that in English. I couldn't comprehend why was ISIS suddenly on the table

It really shows you that people have absolutely little to no idea about what's happening in Middle East. I hate oversimplification and misinformation so much.
  21. Tropico Angel liked a post in a topic by Mash Tragic in Lana signed an open letter to President Joe Biden, thanking him for his ‘leadership’ and calling for the release of all Hamas hostages.
First of all, it's not ISIS but Hamas.
Then, the vile actions of Hamas shouldn't result in the death of thousands of innocent civilians, that have nothing to do with those (especially considering most of the population in Gaza is underage and couldn't vote for Hamas in 2006).
Finally, there was another letter (Artists 4 Ceasefire) that was way more nuanced and definitely hurting for both sides.

Also, I can't believe I'm writing that: encouraging Israel bombings will never be a pro-peace statement.

first of all it goes to show how uneducated you are on this situation because ISIS has nothing to do with palestine or hamas. it’s tragic on both sides but this is not a pro-peace, pro-palestine statement, otherwise their entire goal of the statement would be to save those injured children and adults. it doesn’t even mention palestinian victims anywhere. and where is anybody here saying that they condemn “taking babies and elderly captive…”. it’s controversial the fact that most of these celebrities have NEVER stood up for what palestinians had to go through for 75 years, and whether you like it or not the death tolls on the palestinian side are much more tragic. they don’t have the entire US behind their back and funding them. don’t speak if you don’t know shit

she hasn't gotten to speak her mind her entire career, nor has she ever been able to share her side of the story in every terrible media situation she's been in. from justin, to the divorce, to the conservatorship. not ONCE has she been able to speak for HERSELF. She was free and everyone was so happy for her until she started acting how society didn't want her to act.
i'm not at all shocked she wants to share her story now. she's STILL being treated like shit by the media. The girl can't catch a break EVER. I would be more shocked if she never released a memoir.
