That Nevada reservation line really backs-up her response to people criticizing her for the head dress, when she said she had worked on a Native reservation, and it was not meant in a derogatory way.

Also, based on the earliest MySpace pages, she was in Alabama in 2006.

I have written this before, but I think Jimmy G was a minor character in her life, as far as a real relationship was concerned. I think she developed a crush on him after meeting him at clubs etc., and as she said in some interview, she was impressed by his rock-star credentials, but realized later that he was only modestly famous. I think the more substantial relationships were with K, and MM. As far as songs are concerned, many of the early songs are about K, while the majority of the later ones are about MM (obviously she refers to both of them in some songs). Jimmy is the inspiration of only a few songs but she intentionally confuses matters by choosing BS for two of the videos, even though the character in Blue Jeans or VG or BTD has nothing to do with what we know of JG. Instead all the three songs of the trilogy seem most closely based on MM's character, with aspects of K's criminality thrown in, but mixed in with JG's looks (tattoos).

I love all this because it proves she's had a similar vibe as an artist for YEARS. She wasn't created one year ago in a factory because she made her hair brown like some people think. She's had this schtick for ages.

I did a lot of digging today and finally managed to find a lot of interesting things that we didn't know about the May jailer- Lizzy Grant days from the old Myspace. It would be great if you guys appreciate this, it took forever to put together, haha. Most of this is information taken from pictures, they'll be at the end, and the picture containing whatever information will have the picture number next to it in parentheses except performance dates, there are way too many to put with pictures, ask if you need the pictures for the performance dates and I'll PM them. The pictures are out of order by date though. It's all between 2006 and 2010.

that's usually true, but lana herself has said that her music is "100% autobiographical", which of course feeds our speculation. if she didn't throw clues around (and if she weren't so fascinating and hadn't lived such a full life) we wouldn't feel so compelled to try to piece together stories and people and associate them to her lyrics! bear in mind that some theories have been somewhat confirmed, while others are in the air or maybe just fantasies.

I can't narrow it down to one, but in Radio when she sings:

    I finally found you."

Can we do live performances? If so, this:
There are two moments for me. First, when she does the chorus at 2:48 and she's bellowing and it sounds so emotional and you can see it from her voice that it's coming from a very deep place. The second moment is directly after when she sings along to what sounds like could be a saxophone solo. I love that and wish it could be on the album version.

As far as studio material goes, in Every Man Gets His Wish the lines:
I was working down in the corner cafe
You would drive by in the Chevrolet
Whistle at me as my hips go sway
"Lana Del Rey how you get that way?"

I just smile. It's so sweet and classic Lana to me.

I absolutely hate this kind of political correctness, as it suppresses free thought and makes you walk on eggshells about everything. Some people just look for the opportunity to find something to criticize and this is one of those instances. Nothing in her wearing the headdress in the video implies anything negative about Native Americans IMHO.

TPD, this was just as good as i expected. You're such a cool girl and I'm glad to have you on the forum. I can tell you have some worthy thoughts and I liked reading them. My mom has a big ass crush on Jim Morrison and I grew up with that, so that answer made my smile. And your favorite Lana songs are top-notch! Also I'm going to download the song you recommended, I just listened and I like it a lot (sucker for anything remotely Elvis-like).

This is a real breakthrough in our investigation, ladies and gentlemen!! However, I do think that the actual relationship was platonic, and represented a crush from Lana's side. Thinking anything else is of course creepy. It will be great if we could dig up a pic, is he like a real handsome guy or something? His rate the teacher comments suggest he was a very popular teacher. Regarding the waitressing bit, I read the comment again (on SIN) and she was talking about a summer job. Kent is out of the way, and I am sure they do not allow boarding students to work at restaurants part-time (plus remember she was sent to get over alcohol addiction).

Actually the deluge of Lana leaks, not just today, but basically what has been going on for the past few months, may all have been from Lana herself. It seems to me that she is kind of closing a chapter of her life, and that includes her past music/video creations, as well as relationships, as she moves on to the next phase of her life (probably with Barrie).

Actually there is another hint that her relationship with Mr. Campbell may not have been completely kosher. In one of the interviews in Evil's piece she says that she was in his car when he played her the Biggie song. Having attended such a school myself, I find it unusual that a female student would take a ride with a male teacher. Not saying it can't happen for innocent reasons, but unusual in a boarding school, specially in 2003.

I am sure you have noticed that Lana bought a house in Beverly Hills. I think she moved in after she got back from Glasgow and had Chuck and Charlie with her, during the move. Barrie just joined her today (he posted a pic from her house on FB and Twitter), and Lana is of course busy buying stuff for the house (including the pony!). She now has her new Jaguar F-type to tool around (someone posted on ATRL that Jaguar gave her 3 cars!!) and all this makes it seem she is settling down after years of somewhat nomadic existence (Alabama(?), NYC, NJ trailer park, LA, London, Glasgow, Chateau Marmot). On one hand I feel really happy for her, on the other hand I wonder how it will affect her music and song-writing. Your thoughts?

NOTE: Please respect the privacy of people mentioned in this post who are not public figures.

    Here's something "juicy"...

Some time ago I was reading this interview and wondered if the teacher she mentions was a teacher at her boarding school.

If you do a little digging, using archive.org you can find that there was a Mr. Campbell that was an English teacher at her boarding school when she attended there, though he doesn't teach there now, and that they follow/friend each other on various social media platforms.

I subsequently discovered "Prom Song (Gone Wrong)" which is a love song in a high school setting, which notably has the following lyrics: "You played me Biggie Smalls and then my first Nirvana song."

More recently, in preparing for the covers-themed LanaDelReydio show I'm working on, I was looking up interviews where she mentions Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, or "Heart-shaped Box" and noticed this in one of the interviews I found:

I nearly did a spit take. But then I found something really weird. In another interview published just a couple days later, she changes the story:

Suddenly, Mr. Campbell turns into a she. WTF is that about? Is she trying to hide something?

Now I'm not necessarily saying I think she fucked her teacher. But I think she at least fantasized about it. (Perhaps the fact that it's her teacher is what "Gone Wrong" refers to.) And I think "Lolita" is about him too. Consider that in Nabokov's novel, Humbert Humbert is a middle-aged literature professor.

All of which just makes this serendipitous:

yes! i think that, unlike most artists who need to feel sad or angry or depressed to write, lana can write happy(ish): think of "on our way" and "never let me go", or even "yayo" (although it's a bit more of a melancholy joy). of course some people, when truly content, no longer feel the need for creative catharsis. let's hope that's not the case for our dear lizzy lana! but above all, i want her to be happy ♥ may karma give back what she lost and repair the damage of the hatewave!
