Since bringing up the British monarchy has been going on for a couple of pages, I suggest starting a thread under World News if you’d like to discuss that (and if you do, keep the discussion civil, please) and if you want to discuss Lana and her instagram posts, you do so here.

i think we should start a new country populated by lipsters and lana is our monarch. she can colonize the entire world and on speakers everywhere will play all of her albums in order every single day. anyone who dares criticize our dear monach must be executed, preferably by guillotine but maybe drowning would work, and we will only educate the wealthy, ruling class, for the culture. on every wall in every home will hang 2 photos: one of lana and one of philip and elizabeth. incestual relationships will be encouraged to preserve the bloodline and keep wealth in the family as opposed to sharing it. thus a few families will garner all the wealth, and the rest of us plebians will walk on the dirty streets, desperately crying out for queen lana to save us all because we're her valiant lipsters. her posting philip and elizabeth was simply her warning that soon that'll be her.
 
this is the big thing lana's been planning for so long - it's not ldrvillage, it's a literal imperialist scheme and she's poised to take over and subjugate the world population

Discussing the British monarchy and politics might not belong in here. I understand that it’s because of Lana’s posts, but I feel that these past posts are getting further away from discussing them.

This is pure cringe. She sent a message of condolence with that post, which is a kind thing to do. Saying that she endorses a „problematic institution“ shows that nowadays people try to cancel you for everything they can.
 
And you are not „holding her accountable“ my edgy friend, you‘re doing nothing. 

This controversy makes absolutely no sense and anyone who is mad at this should read the room in the real world and not on twitter for once, as Coney Island King has put it.

Even more basic than an aesthetic of glamorous, romantic love that LDR has been associated with, is the fact Phillip stuck by the queen 70 years, and (I gather from news reports) he was a perfect "consort". LDR admires that love, both from the security it must have personally given the queen and the feminist idea of a man equally willing and able to serve a more "powerful" female.

Lana is not uneducated or ignorant. She's a decent person who thought of something nice to say about a public figure who passed away.
 
She's open-minded enough to have her own opinions outside the hypocritical, hive-minded, mob, and brave enough to express them in public. This is why we are drawn to her art, consciously or subconsciously. The culture truly is sick, but the tides are turning hopefully.

I don’t get it, there’s condolences across the world about Philips passing, and warm regards about his very long marriage across all media, yet Lana posts about it and eveyone freaks out......am i missing something?

why do y'all even bother checking her insta at this point? y'all want her to stop posting -- but when she doesn't post for weeks on end y'all bitch. so then she posts and y'all bitch. live and let live. phillip was a fucked up person, we know, but he also died today.

I knew this thread was going to be on fire. We obviously know Lana does not mean to justify any actions of the Royal Family and made it clear in her caption that she just admired the way Phillip and Elizabeth loved each other - much like how she’s used JFK/Jackie and Elvis/Priscilla as motifs in her career.
 
Maybe I wouldn’t have acknowledged them at all, but we know she’s not insinuating anything harmful at her core. Let’s not feed into any damaging narratives spun by fake-woke Twitter users who likely don’t even bother to fact-check infographics that they spread around.

Finally had the time to read through this thread and... Ellen had to apologize multiple times for NO REASON? For financing the website we are all using? For putting a lot of work in it?  I first clicked "No" on the poll, but after reading her post switched it to "Yes". Some users had some good ideas though and I'm pretty sure the mods will take them into consideration.
