My top 5 songs from this album changes almost everyday omg but A&W is definitely always there. The song is perfection. The lyrics, instrumentals, beat switch, all of it just so good.
But tbh, it makes me kinda sad that the song is mostly only getting the success that it has gotten because of the “Jimmy” part. Not necessarily on this forum but mostly on tiktok (which I know- they kinda suck)

Regarding QFTC, there’s no doubt she kinda took a commercial hit (though she came back stronger), but I wonder how different her numbers would be if she never got herself in that situation 

I’ve heard enough songs about her family/her dad, like I get it you love him ok

even ignoring everything about race. the post still sucked ass 
 
I can not fathom why she thought that sort of accusatory tone would go well with the public. There was no reason to bring other people into it (regardless of race). It came out at an extremely weird time, considering critics liked her best after NFR came out, and its been years since major publications were levying the "romanticizing abuse" accusation against her. The entire thing is so messy. 
 
I'm rereading it now and it's even worse than I remember. "News Flash!" oh ffs. It's just so tonally off and poorly written

NFR and its era is just so warm and inviting for me  it’s riddled with SO much nostalgia..I remember it came out when I was in college and spent late nights studying and listening to it   It was a comfort album, especially it if I got too high…Venice Bitch and Love song would held me in their arms like a loving mother holds a child   I appreciate this album so much  I think the fact that it’s the last Lana album we got before COVID makes it really sentimental for me as well

See this is the first album since NFR *but really L4L where my craving to put it on has grown. Chemtrails did give me needed peace during the pandemic, and it definitely got replayed to hell, same with Blue Banisters-but I think it's because they were there, they were what's new for her and I rarely play through other artists albums like her. Ocean I NEED to put on after a certain amount of time or my mood sours lol. I truly need to hear Paris Texas for brain recalculation. it's like the Violin to Frankensteins Monster-instantly calming and beautiful

people just hate BB because they're in denial that it's a top 4 album with such long standing classics as title track, living legend and text book

girl i feel like you have way too narrow a definition of surf
she just samples/interpolates wipeout! into the song. so yes i guess it was a pre-existing song. in fact, it pre-existed lana's entire existence 

NFR is indie rock with surf rock elements here and there. It’s quite cohesive and sunny-sounding throughout.
 
Chemtrails leans heavily on indie folk and its sonority suggests a more autumnal aesthetic.
 
That the GP still manages to affirm these two albums sound the exact same is completely mind boggling to me. Their themes are different and the soundscapes diverge to different genres (although sharing similar sensibilities) but people took Jack Antonoff producing both albums and WAH sampling HTD and ran with it.

what a beautiful way to represent the healing of her grief, tying in with the kintsugi concept, allowing herself to break so that the cracks in her spirit can heal with gold  

I think Margaret is my least favorite song. Not a bad song by any means but it’s the one I find myself listening the least to. I also fell asleep listening to it in album release night
