    no wait you're a genius
Mine is Carmen: "Cause her liquor's top shelf"

Top shelf is a liquor brand. It's also north american slang for "good quality." But I alwyas interpreted this line as being about her parents putting the liquor on the highest shelf so she wouldn't be able to reach it, and this line always evoked an image of a precocious little girl on her tippy toes reaching for a bottle of her dad's whiskey

i also slightly misinterpreted gramma, when she says "gramma said she'll leave the lights on for me" i thought she meant that she'll leave the lights on for her because she's afraid of the dark, instead of her grandma leaving the lights on in the house because she's coming home late

Legend @Mash Tragic's status update inspired me to do a thread for this.

What are the Lana's songs that you have misinterpreted?

I mean, the Tommy Genesis collab came out of nowhere so it might be not that far-fetched. I choose to believe Lana wants the most unhinged, unpredictable collabs for her next album

The very first CD I bought with my birthday money was Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad  I was so obsessed I had her haircut (the short, straight bob).

The first vinyl I had was an old copy of either The Dreaming or Hounds of Love by Kate Bush. I both found them during garage sales but I don't remember which vinyl I got first, just that it was a Kate Bush one

Yep, I saw that, but apparently it still couldn't prevent them to go see the Titanic. It's just wild to me that an uncertified submarine could exit the warehouse.

I guess they got around that by claiming it was experimental. Though I believe experimental vessels should be banned for touristic purposes. It's common sense not to use untrained people as guinea pigs.

Honestly I don't even care about those things, but it's because english is only my 2° language and I don't use it on a daily basis

I kinda like the rest, I feel like sky does a type of music oddly specifical to me, 80s/90s sounds, an almost good voice and that noisy pseudo shoegaze-y production, it's almost like music for people that can't care enough bout anything

I know this song is supposed to be devastating, but the censor sound cracks me up absolutely every time.  I always picture that vomiting glitter gif and then it's over.

Ngl I was obsessed with this story (like most people I guess) because of the possibility of finding them alive.
Such a tragic way to go.

The more I think about the whole "why did they go in such a crappy submarine", the more I think they must have feel safe because the pilot was the the co-founder. Obviously, you won't embark on a vessel you're not sure of.

Hopefully uncertified submarines will be now banned from attempting to reach the wreck. If cars and boats have to go under tests to be used, how is that not mandatory for submarines used for tourism...?

I feel awful for thinking that when lives are at stake, but I can't help finding outrageous to deploy sooo many ressources for FIVE people who paid $250k each to see pieces of rusting metal in the depths of the sea... Especially when you see that garbage submersible. No money would have convince me to set foot in it. To think they paid that much money for that outcome...

Now of course I wouldn't say that if one of my relatives was in there, and it's really a freaking tragedy, but imagine how many deserving people those $250k*5 + the money invested in rescuing them would have helped. Instead, it's just thrown away deep in the water.
