But $25 for some postcards!?! That is actually outrageous.

The new album will have at least 11 songs, but she feels it's going to be a long album.
She has never heard Toosie Slide (man wtf.)

Has anyone ever heard of a mega jacket for CDs? This eBay seller is claiming these are an exclusive edition from Amazon in Japan but I'm doubtful they are authentic as I can't actually see the product listed on the official Amazon.co.jp
What does anyone else think? 
 

i cracked and bought the yellow vinyl, it's so cute and i want one with the standard cover  you know what i AM a collector now

same as @Dominikx4 i ALWAYS forget to check what the initial quantity is when product goes up. But I believe there was 15k of the transparent vinyl and 5k of the grey vinyl originally. Yeah, the transparent is not really "exclusive" at all in my opinion. And I'm guessing there will be tons left on the site for a really long time (possibly discounted in the future too).

I think I'm gonna have to be an adult about this and be okay with that fact that I'll never own it, cause I'll be dammed if I'm paying £300 on ebay for a copy only slightly different to what I already own.

In reference to the songs she made with Nikki Lake: 'They have written four more originals; there is also, says Del Rey, "a cover album of country songs" and one of "other folk songs". 
So hopefully she's still intending on releasing it one day, fingers crossed!

It's definitely interesting hearing where she's coming from and the complex way she perceives things as an artist, especially during this current phase of not being able to reconcile with past criticism of her authenticity and bad experiences with journalists. It actually made a lot of sense when she said it didn't surprise her that critics loved NFR because there "wasn't anything not to like", which is kind of true. That tells me that she knew some of her earlier albums and the way she portrayed of herself would turn some people off as opposed to NFR which was a phenomenal but also very accessible version of Lana Del Rey. Maybe it bothers her that she can receive acclaim so easily by shying away from telling parts of her story that exist in more of a moral grey area like songs about an abusive relationship. I don't think she would have lashed out at Ann Powers (the only serious critic who had some genuine criticism of the album) or posted QFTC if she had come to some sort of resolution over that. I know a few people personally who have a hard time accepting success or approval once they get it because they still haven't reconciled with how isolated they felt before when they weren't being approved. Kind of a "you like me at my most palatable but can't handle the real me" mindset. It seems Lana is still searching for the balance in that.

why is this giving me The Ring vibes

my estimates from previous eras (as someone whose searching for lana things multiple times daily and gets to see the inclines first hand):
 
copies sold from her store won't immediately be rare. these will also probably take some of the longest to sell out. in the nfr era, store exclusives also got restocked intermittently but extremely randomly. after a year these were selling for around 50-80, after a year and a half is when people started uploading them for 100+. so basically, if you buy these just for the sake of having something rare these will probably increase in value, but extremely gradually. copies sold from urban outfitters won't immediately be rare. people will immediately start relisting them at high prices before they sell out, but they probably won't sell out for a good few months. nfr took maybe a year or so to sell out. i feel like it only sold out relatively recently. copies from walmart are somewhat up in the air. it could be similar to a target edition, which will normally only gain value after a few years. for example, its still quite easy to get lfl / nfr target editions. picture discs will be rare. picture discs are always rare. especially considering the tiny margin of time people were given to purchase the spotify exclusive. amazon exclusive is also up in the air but amazon exclusives by other artists normally sell out fairly fast and then go for around the 70-100 mark immediately, so they'll only gain value. indie exclusives are up in the air. but take note of this: it doesn't matter how many distributors there are. in fact, this can just make it more difficult to get a copy. think record store day / born to die rsd edition.

This looks so cool! Nice choice of images. May I ask how much it cost to get this made? I looked into some services in the UK and it seemed pretty expensive to get anything longer than 40 minutes pressed and also have a custom sleeve, but I'd love to put together some unreleased playlists with nice cover artwork and that.

I imagine they are actually signed like she did with the NFR prints. She individually signed each one, so hopefully this time it will be the same.
