I am crazy about "Hollywood's Dead" right now. The chorus is so damn good and I can't stop singing "You're sickeningly beautiful." Wish she would make a more orchestral version and release it.

@@FormerLanaFan What? Really??? How did you manage to listen to an artist's back catalog of songs, 75% of which are about illicit affairs with men, and be okay with that all this time? You're upset because the female artist of said songs actually admitted publicly that she DID sleep with lots of people? Logic, where art thou?

Personally I've always kind of admired women who are so open with their sexuality. There's nothing slutty about it unless you are dishonest and hurting people left and right. If you're horny and wanna get laid, if you're lonely, it's cool that a woman can go and take care of that. Just tell the guy that's what's up. I wish my parents' religion and society hadn't shamed me. I wish I loved my body enough to get it naked with just anyone.

There should be more outlets for women to appear the same way men have been sexually portrayed in the media. Women are not little delicate flowers who want only romance and marriage. Sometimes we just wanna get F-ed!

Love this song.  It's actually a lot deeper than most people think, juxtaposed with Whitman's poem.  I always viewed it as being about a sad woman, who obviously has lost someone, and is trying to find happiness ie. her soul through her physical body.  I like how, in the beginning, the religious members of society (Mary) are praying for her because they believe that's the wrong way to live, but convert to the other side at the end.  It's very dark and tragic but hopeful at the same time.

These lyrics are epically good at capturing both the love and hate involved in a mentally destructive relationship. I really appreciate the feelings of desperation here, that the only escape is through drugs and, ultimately, in one person simply killing himself. Tragic. Beautiful.

I often facepalm at Lana's lyrics (but I have some tattooed on me as well...) LOL.

I fucking hate every reference to "your golden grill."  I also think the lyrics to "Stoplite Delite" are dumb, especially:

"Fly body, dope in the face."

I thought the song was really cute and catchy till I caught myself singing that godawful line.

Unpopular opinion or not?-  This Is What Makes Us Girls is actually a great story song.

I forgot to add that I also relate to the juxtaposition of Lana the person vs. Lana the writer.  So much of what she writes is heavy, dark and depressing as hell yet her character in settings with fans is delightfully cheery and friendly.  I think I'm like this too.  It's about having 2 different facets to your personality and needing to express both in different ways.

I'm coming out of seclusion to rant about the beauty of this album.  It doesn't beat UV, but it's amazing dark mood music.

BEST TRACK:  "God Knows I Tried."  Seems slow and dull, but is actually majestic.  The lyrics are perfectly Lana and also perfectly me.  I almost cried the first time I heard that "Let there be light, light up my life" part of the bridge.

GKIT is just one of the best songs I heard in my life

Only the first part of UV keeps up with HM. HM is longer, if we cut the 4 weakest songs from HM it's better than UV. Wait, I cannot cut 4 songs from HM only 2 maybe.

HM>UV>BTD it's amazing tho that she topped UV.

I would kiss Lana for sure, like you're gonna pass that chance up out of respect.  Oh, hell no!  LOL.  I mean I respect Lana greatly and think she's slightly crazy for doing this with fans, but imagine the stories you'd have.  And what if you wound up getting some virus from her?  You could tell everyone that you got ill from making out with Lana Del Rey
