It will be interesting to see which direction Lana goes for her next album. I can imagine Lana's frustration and irritation after hearing her previous albums described as nothing but "costumes". That must fucking hurt, and we know how sensitive Lana is. Although she is probably extremely proud of the positive reviews for NFR and COCC, i expect she is quietly hating them for it too. She even made a slight dig at Norman by saying "I knew they'd love it, because there's nothing to dislike" or something like that, labeling it as just "cool". It feels like she is basically calling it plain and admitting that she was holding back. Now that she has the critics by the balls, it would be iconic for her to make her next album a lot more edgy, daring and controversial again, the way she was before Lust for Life. I wonder if she is curious to witness the outcome if she went back down the Born to Die, AKA, UV route again. I can imagine she must be. Would the critics and general public take her seriously once and for all, in her truest form, making the art that she loves? Or will they go back to calling her names again?
 
I hope she goes back to being a little more crazy and spontaneous after this record. Her first three albums were so vastly different. Born to Die was totally original, then she confused everyone by suddenly turning to a grungier rock album, and then we got this 1940s, lynchy, jazzy record. It was all so iconic.
 
For me it's BTD/UV/HM (stories of her past) - and then the second half of her story is LFL/NFR/COCC (stories of her future/who she wants to become)
 
So i hope she enters a full new phase now with something totally and completely fresh

COUNTDOWN TO COCC 7 HRS LADIES

 

I don't give a fuck anymore I'm skipping school tomorrow. Listening to COCC will be the first thing I'll do

I'm going to listen to the album tomorrow morning in my garden. It's probably still dark outside bc it's 5am then but I think it'll worth it 

Even though i've already heard it so i wasn't that excited when my vinyl arrived, i think i'm still gonna do what i had originally planned to do tomorrow to celebrate the release. Firstly i've cleaned my vinyl player for the first time in years  And like many others i think i will have a drink in the evening listening to it, i'm excited to hear it on vinyl in it's full form and i'm still secretly hoping for a solo version of Breaking Up Slowly, whether that be on vinyl or on a digital release. 
Anyways happy COCC eve everyone, we really did it! 

So I texted my Grandma back and broke the news to her and she said what a let down with some emojis 

when i see that the album is getting critical acclaim from the reviews:  
 
when i see that all of her past work is being discredited in the reviews:

Gramma said she'll leave the lights on for me
Gramma said the flags are waving for me
Gramma asked me when COCC would be out yet, waiting for me

Ugh, yes! I firmly believe it’s rooted in misogyny, even though in the past I know Lana has said she believes it’s not, noting that women have discredited her too, but I think those women also have internalized misogyny. I have never seen a male artist’s authenticity questioned. Period. People get too wrapped up in the looks of things and never want to look any further than what strikes them instinctually. And sometimes that comes in handy in situations of danger, but in this case it does not. I am beyond happy that Chemtrails is being met with positive reviews, but it’s so easy to see through them. They love her, and then they hate her/hate on previous endeavours of her. Luckily she sees through it all, though! 

I just want to sleep and only wake up once I'm ready to press play on the album 

I just know that Lana’s going to be mad at the times if she reads their review and the line about her trying on several costumes before finding herself.

Omg yes  his music overall is so good and its the kind of music where if you like one song you'll probably like all the other songs
