this is why no matter how much effort taylor puts into them, the rerecordings will never be as good as the originals. you can't recapture lightning in a bottle.

But is "stealing" the right word when that was the contract she signed and Scooter Braun had all of the legal rights to buy them?  It's not just a Taylor thing, most artists don't own their masters unfortunately. That's just how the music industry works.

Like wow, this poor billionaire… having to share a fraction of earnings with a music industry guy. Trust she doesn't need anyones' extra money, but she knows her fans and she knows what she wants: $$$…… further evidenced by this whole CD/vinyl debacle within these last few pages.

lol i just watched it today
i really liked it. its fun! i feel like the people who disliked it just didnt get the irony or just chose not to see it
ill say that when i read that the movie was about 'barbie goes to the real world' i could see where it would go but it was more than that!!
i got a bit emocional with the scenes of barbie thinking about the real world. this feeling was really good but it faded so quick that im thinking of watching it again so im paying attention enough to soak it and understand it idk
i was so into it i wasnt expecting to end with that scene at all. i want more it was so fast for a 2hrs movie😭 thats what i want when i go to the movies not to care ab the time -even though the seat wasnt that good but i payed $8

also margot is a diva. ryan is so hot lol

Watched it today and it was soo fun. Haven't seen people this excited to go to the movies in so long. There wasn't a single empty seat and people were all dressed up in pink, it was real cute. The last movie I saw in theaters was Super Mario Bros and it was near empty in there lmao. When I went to see Bones and All it literally WAS empty like literally just me and my friend bshdfb (it wasn't that big of a movie but still...). People really don't go to the cinema like they used to here. Very iconic that a movie about Barbie became such a cultural phenomenon and managed to do all this.

I loved the 1st season and it seems there‘s a 2nd one but I just could find this:

    https://www.moviepilot.de/serie/wolf-creek/episodenguide

Quite possible it’s not available on DVD/BR or on streaming platforms which is super sad. People seem to love WC.

BTW: The 3rd WC movie will be in cinema on Jan 4, 2024. 🔪🔪🔪

I recently got into the Wolf Creek series and I want to start the tv show but I CANNOT find season 2 to buy anywhere. I don't want to start season 1 without having season 2 so I'm stuck. Anyone know where I can buy Wolf Creek season 2?

Vampire made me think it’s going to be a great album, Bad Idea Right just doesn‘t. Her worst song for me so far.

I grew tired of Vampire very fast…
The new song is not bad (except for the end) but don’t see myself going back to it a lot. I guess I’m too old to connect with it

Everytime I see Taylor Swift I think of a doll. She would have been a great Barbie too. Margot Robbie did a wonderful job though. And how cute was Dua?!

Especially loved the first minutes of the movie: Barbieland looks nice. Would not mind to have a perfect day every day over there. 🌈💄👗👙🛻🌊☀️

Billie‘s and Dua‘s songs are everything!

so good!!!! I did not expect it to love it that much  maybe because my expectations were low
very fun, laughed and cried a lot and it really was worth the hype imho. I was expecting an enchanted 2.0 and it's just not like that at all
margot robbie and ryan gosling were really the perfect choice! also so many attention to details it made me feel super nostalgic

I haven’t seen a movie in cinemas like this in years. It made me think, laugh, cry and sob. It might have some flaws but at the end I went home feeling way better about myself and made me reflect on who I really am, thank you Greta 💗

I really loved the movie! The aesthetics were gorgeous and the Barbieland made me feel so nostalgic for my childhood lol

I also liked that it didn't take itself too seriously and I feel like there aren't too many girl centered movies these days so this was just really refreshing and fun! Reminds me of the 90s/2000s era of movies like Clueless, Legally Blonde, and Mean Girls...Barbie definitely fits in there with them!

    10/10 imo

    WARNING !! MINOR SPOILERS
So I just saw the movie, and I'm having some mixed feelings about it.  First of all, Margot Robbie did a fantastic job, she brought such emotional weight to the story and she served, every single second that she was on screen. All the actors did good. Shout out to Michael Cera! I found his Alan so endearing, he's one of the gorls and I can see this movie reviving interest in the character (in terms of toy demand). The writing in the movie was very self-aware, even breaking the fourth wall to address that we're watching a movie starring Margot Robbie, and it was camp. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it was a little cringe. All-in-all it was a fun movie, instant classic.
The soundtrack worked a lot better than expected. The context of the Lizzo track is so goofy, it's basically played-straight narration to Barbie's morning routine, with very literal lyrics saying exactly what's happening on-screen. I don't think they actually used Ava Max or Dominic Fike? If they did, it was either instrumental backing music or end credit stuff I missed. But they played a huge chunk of Speed Drive twice in a row and it served. The two "Best Weekend Ever Edition" bonus tracks have a larger presence in the film than a majority of the standard tracks. Barbie World is an end credits song, so you don't have to hear it for long if you don't want to.
As someone who cares too much about random lore, I hate hate HATE what they did with the subjects of Midge and the inception of Barbie. They reduced Midge to a running gag, calling her the bad pregnant doll that was discontinued for being *weird*, which is untrue and also minimizes her role in Barbie history. She only appears for brief intervals so they can make fun of her existence, and they completely ignore that Alan's the father & husband despite his prominence in the film. I also HATE how they put Ruth Handler on a pedestal, praising her as the inventor of the first ever fashion doll. This isn't true. Ruth saw children in Germany playing with a doll known as Bild Lilli, and she stole the design with no authorization or credit in regards to the original inventor. Ruth did not invent fashion dolls, she just brought them to the US, and the film does revisionist history to pretend that's not the case.
