Regardless of the fake insider, I do think the album direction has changed since the fall of 2023. It seemed while on tour in September/October, she was leaning more into a traditional country sound (even evidenced by her fashion choices on tour) but now it’s evolved into something a bit different and less stark in one direction. That would explain her hesitance around where Lasso would be going as a “country” album and also how she recently described the new songs as having a “Southern Gothic twist” to Vogue and added a “Southern Gothic” story highlight. That wasn’t a phrase she was using before recently. 
 
Her 2024 stage looks, references to bayous and the photos by Wyatt Spain Winfrey in May, new boyfriend (lol), and recent focus on Tropico as an introduction at the shows (especially with references to Jesus, her singing Body Electric, etc.) suggest a slightly new direction. It’s amazing to kind of infer how she works on albums in real time. 

So, we can all agree that the animal of this era is the American alligator right 

As much as I would love this, it doesn’t really align with her saying this album is going to be more “light-hearted” / “American songbook style”.
 
Then again, Lana is awful at describing her projects accurately, and if she just means more light-hearted COMPARED to Ocean Blvd, it could mean anything because OB was very heavy 

For some reason I feel like this album is gonna like be what she initially wanted to do with Tropico prior to it transforming into Ultraviolence 
 
Even with the whole "Southern Gothic" fixation it's so exciting to see what she's been cooking for the past 4 or 5 years idk i lost track but the closest thing to southern gothic that we have in my opinion is I Talk To Jesus and yeah i wouldn't want it to be reworked I love it the way it is but I would't really oppose it
 
And i kinda don't want Tough to be on this 'cause of Clay  and i'd really love to see a traditional or Lanafied country record 

I just know that, our beloved sir, Dan Auerbach, would nail the Southern Gothic style with Lana so well, especially considering that he has produced country albums before as well (for example, he produced a country album for Nikki Lane in 2014, the same year as Ultraviolence - that's how Lana and Nikki met) and he also lives in Nashville and I remember very well that Lana was writing her new album in Nashville in late 2023 and early 2024. So there might be even a tiniest chance, like 0.00001% chance, that they reunited for Lasso, at least the delulu in me hopes. Even for a one track, please 

One thing that we know is that Lana usually hints the themes of the next album on the last song(s) of the previous one. 
So I've been looking for evidence, and here's what I have so far. 
 
Get Free - commiting to heal, and to make music reflecting that - into NFR --> 
Hope - admitting that she's not happy yet but she's trying, very poetic song, minimalist production, reflecting about the past - into COCC -->
Dance till we die (not considering the actual closing track bc Lana didn't write it) - talking about how she's reflecting on fame and that she prefers to live a simple life, mentions a daughter - into Blue Banisters -->
Sweet Carolina a song dedicated to her sister, with involvement from her family, a reflection on maternity and motherhood - into Ocean Blvd --> an album which dealt with very heavy themes that we all know. Then the album ends with Taco Truck   let's see what that'll mean for the themes of her next album

After reading that Vogue interview, Raise Me Up (Mississippi South) has been ON *REPEAT* IN THIS HOUSE!!!

I'm from Florida, and to me, Southern Gothic is humid swampy nights spent in old wooden houses with gross carpeting and animal heads all over the walls with the only thing to cool you off being a half-broken fan, and if you wanna go to the bathroom, you have to use the one in the RV camper outside because it's the only one that works

I just need Zodiac to appear on the tracklist. I'm obsessed and I'm tired of listening in potato quality, though it does contribute to the atmosphere. I remember the time Dealer leaked in LQ and appeared on BB not long after, so I'm praying for Zodiac to get the same treatment.
 
Oh, and 3 music videos at least   I will gladly accept the homemade videos 

Lasso needs to be majorly produced by Luke, since he’s an actual country artist. Or better yet, some randos/unknowns from Nashville, because they’d give it their ALL producing for someone as well known as Lana.
 
I like Jack overall, and I do have quite a few favorite Lana songs produced by him, but he doesn’t have quite the range to blend genres in a unique fresh way, everything he touches has Jackisms that make it all sound like a Jack song. It doesn’t help he’s working with every single popular artist he can.
 
I think of everyone in the music industry, Jack is the one who needs to take a couple of years off. 

I get what you're saying but Sweet and Fingertips sound like the same Lana era writing wise and while Peppers is a banger and clashes with the overall sound of the album it's still very much a post LFL Lana track. The production is upbeat but other than the sample the overall feel is still a Jack upbeat track similar to the Norman ones.
 
The Fenway intro sounds like Tim Larcombe and Rick Nowels fused together so I'd be really surprised if it's a Jack song (but I'd also be surprised if she worked again with her old producers so who knows... 
 
If it is indeed In God's Time I'm sure it has additional production by someone else cause I doubt it's only Jack and Lana (similar to FIILY having the extra drums probably added by Andrew Watt)

If she's not happy with it can she please rework it or scrap it and come up with something brand new we dont want more of these half assed releases like chemtrails and blue banisters, i miss when her era's all felt different now they just kinda blend together since nfr

I have my doubts about this album after today's interview
She just doesn't seem very passionate about it in general
Every other era she'd post various visuals on IG etc, and in interviews she'd talk more about her inspirations and the sound for the album. That is missing this time
And now she's just come out and said to not expect anything very different from everything else she's done
That surprises me because this was touted as a country album
There's so much potential within that genre to branch out and do smthn different so if she thinks this album sounds similar to her other work, then
We'll see but idk
