A&W has now been used in 1.8k videos on tiktok (for comparison: DYKTTATUOB ~3k videos in it’s first day) 
 

The reception for A&W is so overwhelmingly positive and I 100% agree. It’s a beautiful song and the fact that Lana is outdoing herself over a decade into her career is actually insane. She deserves her flowers.
 
That being said, I think Lana and Jack Antonoff bring the best out of each other. A lot of people like to shit on him for Solar Power / Midnights / etc. but no one else is making songs like White Dress, The Greatest, Mariners Apartment Complex, A&W, etc.
 
I’m so happy for her and cannot wait to experience the rest of the album with y’all 

The best thing is we get something absolutely new with parts of her older work. She is beyond of everything from now on.

This song will still be fresh when I'm 85 on my twenty millionth listen so I'm not too worried about overplaying

the pitchfork review was actually really good, they’re right in saying it’s like an amalgamation of all her eras into one track, but still somehow sounds so new and fresh

Even tho we all keep making great comparisons that totally make sense this song is also unlike anything else I’ve ever heard??? Like songs like this don’t even exist yet? She’s here to change music all over again

I am so excited!!!! This song is sexy and full of darkness, glamour and richness.  Can't stop listening to it. 
 

I’m getting emotional… it’s truly such a privilege to have grown up with her as an artist since I was 14 in 2011 
i can’t believe we all exist right now and get to experience her music in real time 
and I saw her live in 2015… like are you kidding me. It feels so unreal looking back. Idk I’m just thankful & I love u guys 😭

Anyone else feel that part of why the song is so interesting is because it’s not that obvious if it’s supposed to be a celebration or a lament about being a whore? Within part 1 alone, there are both sorrowful and liberating sections in her lyrics: for example, she sounds euphoric singing that nothing really matters yet she confesses that like a ghost she is invisible. I find the soundscape to be mixed too with aggressive guitar and pacing piano keys yet light and bright vocals. As I understood from Lana’s interview with Billie, the album contains her innermost thoughts, born from voice notes, rather than a pre-fixed perspective on anything in particular. Here we are invited to think things through along with Lana as the song progresses. This is the experience. 

BOZ praised The Grants, Fingertips, and Let The Light In, and Kintsugi told us that the sequence between track 8 and track 16 (which includes Fingertips and Let The Light in) is the best section of the album. Not to mention that BOZ also mentioned how beautiful the strings on Sweet are. So I’m not worried about Drew’s work this time around. BOZ hated Drew’s production on BB btw, lol.

ok after a few listens i can comfortably say this is her best song

truly the most special and evocative song!!!! beyond my wildest dreams of what I hoped it would be 

I honestly never could have imagined or even hoped for lana to go back to that Lizzy/BTD style of singing she’s doing in the second half of A&W
and I was okay with that. I’ve been okay with all the changes and how everything has been consistently similar since Chemtrails. A lot of blue banisters is timeless and so beautiful to me. but of course I was nostalgic for this sound. 
and while it reminds of BTD it’s so fresh and so new at the same time. the first half reminds me of UV mixed with honeymoon production and blue banisters vocals. but also sounds fresh and new. I just can’t believe how this entire song went far beyond my expectations. I’m so happy with it
