does anyone else collapse over "Tell me you like it/me" lyric? Its SO SIMPLE but the weight it carries is everything.

Also I shouldn’t be embarrassed to admit this but I actually cried listening to the title track & I never do, much less with a song I don’t identify a ton with???

Maybe it’s just end-of-the-semester stress, but the song is just so raw. The vulnerability is palpable, and comparing herself to a forgotten tunnel in a world where millions feel they understand her is heartbreaking, really. It almost has an existential undertone like that of Landslide as well.

It really goes to show how much she’s grown as an artist by being able to move people with fairly obscure, highly individualized life experiences in a—by many current literary standards—successful poetic fashion.

I genuinely believe she’s making the music that fulfills her, and it’s really inspiring seeing how her old covers of tracks like Chelsea Hotel No. 2, Goodbye Kiss, etc. are reflected in her music today.

I don’t know if this makes sense to anyone else (or if it’s been mentioned already), but I almost feel like TUOB is probably the MAC of the record, and I think that has really neat implications for the rest of LDR9.

In my opinion, they both have a very timeless quality and include vulnerable declarations about her inner self and personal commitments. Though I never got a ton of replay from MAC, I still think it’s a lovely song with gorgeous lyrics with an almost spiritual undertone.

Neither songs feel particularly showy to me, yet they don’t really need to be—they feel like conversations that come from a quiet, yearning place, and I think the production suits this spiritual quality.

I don’t see myself returning to the title track a ton, but that’s mostly because it doesn’t resonate with me currently despite me thinking it’s some of her best lyricism. Although I was hoping for a noticeable change sonically for this song specifically (just a personal preference tbh), I still think it’s one of her best in a while!

Also I played the title track for the first time in the car today and it was so good
Really trying to not listen too much to it but it's hard ,  there is sth very addictive about the song

Going from an allegedly wild track named American Whore to an interlude that includes her pastor's speech to potentially gospel/jazz-influenced tracks co-written by Jon Batiste will certainly be a ride, lol.

I hope that the interlude will be in the vein of Violet and the pastor's speech is something strictly philosophical/spiritual.

I doubt the Genesis track will be an interlude though. Hermosa is also credited as a co-writer, and Lana said that the Hermosa tracks were the first ones she worked on for this record. I think that the other interlude will be track 10 (SYML) or 11 (RIOPY).

I wonder how many times he's condemned Lana for living with her random boyfriends btw.

Fingertips must be Track 9. I have a feeling that this one is going to be one of the most important and difficult/demanding songs on the album.

Ed's description of the album is fantastic. A game-changer with several musical surprises? Absolutely yes! And BOZ saying that "maaaaaybe" the title track cracks his top 5 tracks of this album is certainly promising, because there are at least 4 other tracks which he finds even better than this.

I still hate the generic Sweet title, lol, but mama always puts great songs at #3 on her albums, so I'm being hopeful.

I wonder if most of her features - except for FJM and maybe Tommy - are just samples/smaller contributions like SYML's.

Exactly. Also, Watercolor Eyes had a full first day of tracking, while only 8 hours were counted for Ocean Blvd. I hope that the song will be added on several playlists on Spotify and the gays on TikTok make it go viral, because the potential is there.

But truly didnt yesterday feel like a dream? THOSE VISUALS. top in her career in my opinion. I was just getting used to picsart.
