my stupid dumb bf hAtEs Lana's music, but even HE listened to it, willingly, I didn't even ask him to do it, before I even had heard the song myself!!! and even HE was mesmerized by the magical intro  and he ofc too giggled (and became stunned) at the "fuck me to death" line (sadly he didn't listen to the song in full but! baby steps right?)

If you have apple music, set your crossfade time to 12 seconds. Then play Ocean Boulevard and queue up Don't Forget Me by Harry Nilsson directly after.

I think it's going to be very dreamy and breezy! Erickson is credited, so I suppose it should resemble the soundscape of the title track (orchestras etc.). The title is way too simple for Lana *cough* Beautiful *cough* so that's a bit of a red flag, lol, but she never puts "fillers" at the top of her tracklists, so I'm being cautiously optimistic.

The Grants and A&W are clearly the more fascinating titles here. What could the former sound like? Is it a continuation of Sweet Carolina or Blue Banisters (title track)? Lana always introduces us to the overall sound and "feel" of her albums with the opening song, so I think it'll be quite special. Perhaps one of the most conversational/confessional tracks on the record, delving deeper into her karmic lineage? I'm getting Honeymoon meets Text Book and Wildflower Wildfire vibes from it; that sigh of relief at the beginning of the title track could be an indication. A&W on the other hand sounds absolutely wild and the fact that BOZ said that it might be his favourite track on the album + Antonoff saying that it's his best work with Lana have left me gagging. It should be an eclectic and experimental ride!
But I do think that fingertips remains the most intriguing title out of all the confirmed songs. The way she described it in her little letter made it sound like an absolute tour-de-force of automatic writing, and I'm very curious to hear what it sounds like.

That fucking breath at the beginning, like just yes. It really sets the mood.

i think it was just a mistake tbh
cuz u can only see those 4 songs on like two mock-ups on one specific site and it’s super LQ

Fingertips must be Track 9. I have a feeling that this one is going to be one of the most important and difficult/demanding songs on the album.

Ed's description of the album is fantastic. A game-changer with several musical surprises? Absolutely yes! And BOZ saying that "maaaaaybe" the title track cracks his top 5 tracks of this album is certainly promising, because there are at least 4 other tracks which he finds even better than this.

I still hate the generic Sweet title, lol, but mama always puts great songs at #3 on her albums, so I'm being hopeful.

I wonder if most of her features - except for FJM and maybe Tommy - are just samples/smaller contributions like SYML's.

The single sounds very inspired to these ears! It has so much going on but it doesn’t ever sound overproduced. I love the palpable sense of urgency for something to survive you in the grander scheme of things. She must know by now her inimitable artistry won’t be forgotten so she speaks instead about a more general cosmic insignificance. It sounds like a truism but I do take it for granted how we have the brief honor of finding beauty in living/touching the souls of others from different walks of life. I’m totally on board with this era.

Busy day at work so I'm late to the party. I'll summarize some thoughts. I'm just so overwhelmed with the little we have gotten so far. The visuals, the direction, the music. Honestly the track is kind of a culmination of her recent sounds as other have said but it is pure magic. Honestly it's so personal, raw, emotional, and relatable. It hit me like a ton of bricks just on how deeply connected I feel the same way sometimes. I am sure we all do. Nobody really can speak to me the way that she does, it's just so real. I think part of her appeal is how relatable she is and just how easy it is to feel connected. I'm rambling now. Super fucking excited with all the information we got. The albums and photos are just so beautiful and spectacular. I've ended up splurging and getting four of the vinyl variants. I just feel like everything about this release feels so special. I cannot wait! Also would like to add the fucking letter she wrote, ugh! Final add on I am so happy the backup singers I hear. They are amazing and blend with Lana so well and add so much beauty, warmth, and harmony. Nobody is doing it like her, other girls fucking wish!

This new song sounds like a blend of Paradise (specifically Ride) and NFR (Venice Bitch, MAC)

i have to say that i do feel as though this is the sister album to Blue Banisters. it almost feels like the RE-UP. more loud, more time, more contemplative in terms of direction. more creative inspiration with the aesthetic. the past two albums were quickly thrown at us and so many things were known before them. so many clues and hints of what was to come. this album is so NEW. the title was something i would have never imagined. it paints one of the most beautiful scenes in my head of sailing the sea with a lover. it’s sounds like the end credits to a feud of lovers where they have to let their love rest. i find this song to be so much more powerful than most of her work from BB and COCC. and i stan those!

I'm most looking forward to A&W obviously, but also Fingertips, which I assume is the song that has the lyrics she teased in W magazine. Loved those.

I was NOT ready fot the production... the sounds of strings... the vocals... the oumph-ness, WOw
the intro does obviously resemble NFR title track (), but more than anything I actually think the song is very much like BBS
FINALLY SOME FINE LUSH ORCHESTRAL SOUND again

Now that I am home I can fully take in all this news.

    1) I started to tear up as soon as I heard her sigh.
    2) The build up is incredible.
    3) The lyrics are unbelievable.
    4) When the back up singers came in I nearly fell out of my chair.

You can't keep blaming Jack Antonoff for everything

also, honestly, i don't understand why people get so shocked when people here respond when they're criticizing lana on a... lana del rey forum? obviously we're all allowed to have opinions, but sometimes the way people talk about lana and her current art is ...a bit much, or just inaccurate

Everyone's entitled to their opinions but some people use really rude language to describe something that Lana clearly poured her heart into and is touching a lot of people. Those who don't like it don't have to, but I'd recommend taking more time to try and connect with the song and understand what she's saying. Lana's not looking to make a quick pop song, she's speaking to the soul and delivering a very poignant message that anyone could relate to if they open themselves up to the meaning. If you still don't like it, that's fine but to pretend that your limited effort to connect with something is the gospel truth and everybody else is overhyped and misguided is just ridiculous.

my old friends from years ago are texting me saying “old lana is back” and they are just casual listeners.
the aesthetics are profoundly beautiful (ribbons, eyeliner, pout, vintage aesthetic)
and the song itself is also a dream. idk why y’all think she’s “gone” ?

Lana simply drinking A&W Root Beer while recording the song, realizing that A&W are the initials of American Whore and then deciding to troll us. She's random like that.  I wonder if Antonoff's "@hollywood from hell" caption is related to this song btw.

Anyway, I have a feeling that the closer could be the "magical moment" song that they wrote back in April. It could be the one with the long ass title as well (similar to HIADT).

I kinda hope that The Bleachers' contribution will be similar to SYML's (just a sample) or the pastor's (background Antonoff vocals or something, lol). Keep Father John Misty, Tommy Genesis and Jon Batiste on a verse or something though!

i'm really curious about sweet, we know practically nothing about it, i have a feeling it will be very sensuous and breezy, like a honeymoon track, but perhaps also very vulnerable and confessional, a track which is lyrically complex, but also leaves you wondering more...
