For anyone else still waiting for their magazine, my Rolling Stone FINALLY came today. I ordered directly from their website. Took a month and a day from when it was supposedly shipped. Annoying it took so long, but I'm relieved I finally got it

i do find this cool <3 it's pretty interesting that she uploaded the album in 2010/2011, she was definitely proud of it <3 also, nice to see acknowledgement of smarty lol

Something else I found from awhile back, forgot to post it here. I'm sure some other people were already aware but I've never seen it discussed. Her "lanadelreynevadaalbum" SoundCloud account, created in March 2010 and it uses the same profile picture she had on Last.fm:

 
There were seven public tracks still available for streaming in May 2011, but they were all taken down by ~September 2011. Fun fact: Each song (except Kill Kill) had a unique cover art, and all were uploaded on March 22nd, 2010

I think she had originally written it as just a normal song on a record (so could be Tropico, given the timing), and then they decided to use it for the Great Gatsby soundtrack. I'm like 85% sure I saw that somewhere, maybe in the album process discussion forum

Ocean blvd deserved a box set similar to ultraviolence’s. 

They kind of missed Paradise though. Maybe they don't follow a specific order. (Especially as Songs like Ride really deserve their own merch collection.)
 
Which era did the heart necklace get sold in? Would make sense to release a new version with the suitable LDR village era drop, even though it seems more likely they will sell it through the regular US store. But during the Chemtrails era, the two shops got kind of merged, maybe they'll do this again.

100%. Like you don’t want to pay to travel, pay for expensive tickets (especially festival tickets) and then have the artist not actually sing that much lol. I feel the exact same way and why I decided not to see her in Chicago this summer. plus I feel too old for music festivals
Fwiw, I saw lana in 2014 and 2018, and the 2014 concert was a much better performance. I totally respect that she doesn’t like to perform that much, but if you have fans that are paying a lot of money to come see you, you need to sing your songs!

Lorde is fun to listen to but looking back she looks soooo bad saying allat. Her criticisms about Lana mean nothing in the long run. I'm not talking about streams or success really; I'm talking about the long-lasting legacy Lana will leave behind... and Lorde's lack of it. Lana changed pop culture and has cemented herself as one of the best singer-songwriters in American history.
 
Ultraviolence is another sound that I wish she'd return to, I admit for nostalgic reasons, but I remember hearing it for the first time and having a moment with myself and thinking, "Music can sound like this???" I was youngggg but even ten years later I really haven't heard anything like UV. Cat Power's Moonpix maybe, but there's something about UV's psychedelic production, mixing, lyrics that really nothing can compare to. And quite frankly I don't even want to listen to an album and think "Oh wow, this sounds like Ultraviolence"–– it can stand alone and be its own thing.
 
In terms of Ocean Boulevard, I don't really know why people are convinced that her lyrics and ideas are so different from how she started. I'm gonna have a hot take here (if you disagree pls don't flame me but I've been thinking about this for a while) I think Born To Die / Paradise is a collection of songs chronicling the epitome of naiveté and youth. Her music is NO LONGER NAIVE. She's wiser. I think this is why people claim she's being pretentious in her new music... when really, I think people want her to stay young and stupid forever especially in a society that celebrates youth. She has different priorities now, and even in her more mature age, she STILL sings about those similar ideas
