I've heard that many times actually and it's not unpopular at all. Every time indie pop girls and tumblr culture is mentioned Lana is always credited as the blueprint. The indie girl pipeline always starts with Lana or Marina, but mostly Lana. We also have countless of micro subcultures/aesthetics like couqettes, sad girls, Paris chic, soft grunge etc. for which Lana's music is their theme song if you know what I mean.

It's also ok to admit that you like a certain album by an artist, even though you're not a fan of their entire body of work.
Like, I'm not a Marina stan, but I love her album Froot a lot. So I'm not gonna force myself to like her other stuff, nor am I gonna go to Marina forums and be annoying saying she should make Froot 2.0  Unfortunately I think that happens a lot on Lana forums, some people just really like UV, not Lana herself.

She’s not exactly going to step out with a punk rock song and heavy metal here she’s not that dynamic production wise.  It’s still gonna be similar to LFL, similar to Norman, Similar to BB, born to die etc
