Can we appreciate the first part? I see everybody marveling at Jimmy and I get it - I love it too but in my humble opinion the first part is better. It's giving dbjag & dtwd for me and I'm here for it

She was SO real for this line, and I'm not trying to be funny. This was such a bold decision to put it in the song, but it was a good decision because it's true, relevant, and needs to be addressed in today's society. I think the entire song is a lyrical masterpiece, but this might be her best lyric on the album.

prolly not, though, you know kintsugi and fingertips are gonna eat

the first half is very tori amos vibes (which i predicted ) and the second half is kinda nine inch nails kinda portishead, but honestly, its very lana. i can’t really compare it to anything else i’ve ever heard. its like a musical collage of so many different things and i just love it.

When I first found out about Lana’s unreleased material, I was obsessed with Hollywood’s Dead and TV In Black and White

Recently I listened to my staple ‘cute and poppy Lana songs’ which were BBM Baby, Back To The Basics, Prom Song (Gone Wrong), Oooh Baby, Behind Closed Doors and Resistance. I was feeling really nostalgic

idk i wrote some story to blue banisters for fun lol

I sat alone in my quiet apartment, and my mind wandered back to the time I visited Oklahoma with Jenny. She had taken me around and introduced me to her friends, and we had a great time sitting by the pool, drinking beer, and talking about men, legacies, and happiness.

Looking out of the window, I saw the sky turning a dark shade of red, and I remembered the Santa Clarita Fires that had devastated the area years ago. A sense of fear crept over me, and I wished for rain to come and wash away the dryness.

I had a hole in my heart that no one could seem to fill. I had loved so many women, all of whom tried their best to heal me, but nothing seemed to work. There were two men in my life, one from the past and one from the present, but neither of them could fill the void.

Every May, my sisters would come to visit me. We would spend the day painting my banisters green and grey, a tradition that had been passed down through generations. It was a day filled with laughter and love, and I always looked forward to it. I loved how the changing of the seasons brought my family together.

As I sat there, lost in thought, I realized that life was full of ups and downs, just like the changing of the seasons. I knew that my sisters would always be there for me, and that gave me comfort. Looking out of the window again, I saw that the sky had cleared up, and the sun was shining. I smiled to myself and went to make a cup of tea, feeling grateful for the memories and the people in my life.

makes so much sense and fits her style. Maybe it could have been a reference to The Greatest “L.A. is in flames, it’s getting hot” and explains why there’s a city in flames behind her in the cover

sorry to be replying to this 1 year later lmao, but i think lana having been in the music industry for decades now is right to discuss her despair and frustrations with it and its mechanisms - from her experiences of extreme misogyny and sexism. she's so right to hate fame, especially as a woman who has not been easily digestible by the public

i cannot believe they were recorded in 2012 - they sound so fresh  i wonder what concepts there were for the paradise EP, because this song seems so far removed from the EP we have (besides thematically, somewhat)

I wasn't a huge fan of the blue, but it looked good with the dark eye makeup here.

This era was such a serve tho, so grunge I love it

This hair was insanely gorj on her though, imagine if she had kept it for an album era serving us dark dance pop?
